Some noteworthy (to me

) posts from Saturday and Sunday.
Overwhelming options available in that pair, Jeff!

That's a lot of knife, Dwight!

Did it come with the stylish matching bead, or did you make that?
Finding it necessary to carry this one today if I really have to use a knife .

That Bulldog Tobacco stag Barlow is zesty, Harry!

Sitting by the bay, waiting for my wife to finish her leg of a relay marathon.

Got my Cocobolo Peanut with me:
Vince, was your leg of the marathon before, or after, hers?

That's a classy Peanut you've got there!

Totin' my new to me PAL US Navy Utility today
Steve, that bailed, 2-blade, EO teardrop leaves me weak in the knees!

It's Armed Forces Day here in the U.S.A. I thought these two were appropriate to carry.

Stately pair and a fine sentiment, Dean; thanks to all who serve!

Words to live by!

For about three days now it's been brilliant sunshine and warm, up to 22c

Remember also that up near the roof of the world it stays light now until 11pm and up again before 5am and gaining every day. Makes up for the misery darkness Nov-Jan

Glad you're enjoying the arrival of warmer weather, Will!

That yellow Buck stockman looks radiant and useful.
I like easy openers too!

If you got it, flaunt it!!

I got up this morning before 6:00 am and drove 170 miles to get some things from our daughters Town Home near Nashville. I spent about a half hour there and turned around and drove the 170 miles back home so I could eat lunch with my wife!

I started out with this Ebony #73 Scout in my pocket. After lunch I switched to the Stag #35 Churchill to fulfill my Saturday requirements! I hope everyone has had a good day!

You're a traveling man, Ron, with a pair of exquisite knives!

Coincidentally, for some reason I had this song stuck in my head Saturday:
I'm thinking about putting a giant squid on the pile side.

Thank you. I've been looking at images of old scrimshaw and engravings for ideas, so I'm feeling like quite the amateur compared to what's out there. I'm gonna have to order a bunch of white bone Rough Riders to get some practice!
You got Skilz, Rachel!!

I'll send you a couple of white bone RRs on which to practice, if you'll return them when you're finished!

(I'm thinking it would be sort of like finding some of Picasso's sketchbooks.

)
I always have a traditional folder in my pocket. I rotate between 2 or 3, but for the past few weeks it's been this Case mini copperhead... it has the wharnecliff as the main blade, and a pen blade. Very handy little knife....
I totally agree!!

I've got a navy blue jigged bone mini copperhead that's one of my favorite knives!
Jack and
@lambertiana, those are luminous lambsfoots, light and dark!!

Two nice ones GT

I appreciate your support, Jack.
Bunk beds
Cool pair!

I'm enjoying the "brothers" thread you started!
Thirst-quenching pic, John!

Standing or running water?
Y’all have a great day!
Grand "grain" in both steel and wood, Ron!

Little Big Horn and K’roo too!
Impressive couple of lambsfoots, Joshua!

As some of you saw in my Beverages post last night, the family of my late buddy found some of his pocket knives while we were cleaning out his house the past few days. I didn't know that he had any, and he never carried them for the 20 or so years that I knew him. They knew that I like knives (the fixed blade on my belt may have been a clue) so they gave these to me yesterday, from the top: Schrade 108OT (1946-1973), Case 051 Fishtail lockback with Pakkawood covers (P1051 1/2 L SSP, 1986), and a Craftsman 95075 lockback. These are as they found them, and they are incredibly sharp (and I know that he couldn't sharpen a knife). I'm totin' all three today.

Plaudits for helping out, Stuart, and congrats on the priceless keepsakes!

Today’s carry is the closest I can get to the team colors of the St. Louis Blues, hoping this will bring a little luck for the game today

.
Love the blue Farmer, Tom, and your efforts seem to have paid off in a big way!

The Blues have had quite a turn-around this year, right?
Picked up the LT on Friday so I've been mostly carrying it and the little Kutmaster since then.
Versatile pair!

How do you like the 110 LT so far?

Congrats on another fine rosewood lambsfoot, Dave, and good to see you back on The Porch!

I'm sure there are plenty of post-move tasks waiting, but take your time and don't burn yourself out!
...
That is a great looking 85, Gary! Buffalo horn?
...
Thanks, Dean.

It is buffalo horn, almost entirely black with hardly any feathering, and a post-production EO notch and pen-to-coping secondary blade mod.
I'm carrying this penknife that Case calls this an Antique Bone Half Whittler.
That's a prime example of a pattern I've come to appreciate a lot!
