What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My oh my such decisions to have to make ;)

Beauties !

As is my Sunday custom, I'll post my everyday foursome

WOW! Stuart

Those beautiful Queen Barlow’s look great in your photos Stuart! They look soooo much better in person my friend!!!  :D

You’ve so many nice knives, you can’t go wrong with whatever choice you make like the pair of Queens today.

Inspirational trio of Queens, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: IIRC, don't you have a box brimming with Queen Barlows?

Thanks for the nice comments. I toted both of the #27s and used the single blade one twice (slow day). Good memory, GT, as I do have such a box, though not quite brimming:

@5K Qs Thanks GT! I really like the GEC Calf & Pen as it has the 2 very different yet highly usable blade shape (nicely ground, too) combined with a flathead driver on the extended liner. After i received this 35 it became my daily carry for a couple months :)

The thing I greatly enjoy about traditional knives is they not only carry a history, in one form or another, they also elicit memories. That's true with the 2 for today: The 1964 Imperial .milK reminds me of the many friends and mentors that served as advisors in SE Asia during the late 50's through the 1960's. The 44 gunstock, being a stout little knife that could also be considered a bit loud, reminds me of the XM177 iterations prior to the M4 ;)

XM177 c. late 1980's loud and/or flashy

Yes, that is the problem with those Case knifes. The color and texture of the handles varies a lot! Shops usually use stock pictures of a particularly nice specimen (obviously) and you never know what you get. I ended up stalking ebay for several weeks because some of the sellers show pictures of the actual knife. There was one who seems to specialize on particularly nice handles, probably hand-picked. I ended up paying a few dollars over the standard Amazon price but that was totally worth it!

I do the same thing. It's a lot of extra work, but you know you're going to great one.

I'm totin' a younger pair today than I normally do (because I'm too lazy to go downstairs and pick an elder representative). A Gary Cunningham small caper (2019) and a Vic Scout/Spartan (2005-2009). Ah, the exuberance of youth - a beautiful memory.

At 6 3/8", the caper carries easily my cargo shorts pocket, though I have it in a belt sheath today.
