What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Black is back

The ebony 66 is a rather good edc. Practical and good looking.

Yeah, that can happen. My only complaint, is that I'd prefer it without half stops on the secondaries. When I'm opening the sheepfoot blade, it kinda twists my thumbnail a little bit. I'm getting used to it, though. Either my nail is toughening up, or I'm learning how to pull my nail out of the nick in time. If that makes any sense.

Try griping the blade (left hand for me), holding it steady and using the other hand (right hand for me) to pull the handle away from the blade. Hope that makes sense.

Your thumb should not twist, if it’s done right. I have soft nails too. I found using that technique will prevent my nail from getting chewed up and also makes it easier to open knives with a heavy pull.

Thanks for the thanks and encouragement, JJ. :)
I look forward to seeing the classics you post each day, and your pre/post war pair is no exception!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks a lot Gary!!! Your 4 for today look mighty fine; great posing and photographs of these beauties:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Thank you JJ. Your S&MbDaddy Barlow’s lightning wood is exquisite. Your Laguiole is a beautiful classic.
Speaking of exquisite wood; your TEW lambfoot and your pipe are matching stunners (love the photo, too!!!):thumbsup::D

My two Thursday totes will be a couple classic workers that have put some time in; a late 40s Camillus scout and a late 60s Case Barlow.:)

Sounds like a busy and successful holiday, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool:

...
Thanks Gary!!! It's great you added a weekly sowbelly to your rotation as that is certainly an all around wonderful pattern; love the pocket worn SAK Alox too!:thumbsup:;)
...
Thanks for the approval, JJ. :)

For my two Tuesday totes I'm going for more from Robeson; an English jack in strawberry bone and a spey Barlow in burgundy. :D
Another pristine and pleasing pair, JJ!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Are you about 100 years old and bought most of your knives when they first came out, or are you just patient, picky, and persistent looking for minty knives on the secondary market??:D:thumbsup:

Today with GEC #15 TC.;)

Pretty as a picture, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Black beauty, John! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Those are most definitely NOT my puppets ha ha! But I'll see if Kim will post them. Whilst I hide in a closet. Well-armed ;)

Finally get to participate in all the "Ebony and Ivory" fun! Pair of Camillus made knives today. Buffalo horn Moore Maker 4 1/8" Trapper and "French Ivory" Camillus 66. Another from the estate sale. A little work to do on the blades still, but after getting it cleaned up yesterday I couldn't leave it at home. From what I've found, this tang stamp puts it between 1946 to 1950? Someone with more knowledge than I feel free to confirm or refute.

Simple black and white today.
Sweet music with your "piano keys" pairs, C cjtamu and @Jiki!:cool::cool:

I'm glad we get to see this one more often; very satisfying knife!:thumbsup::cool:

A pic is worth 1000 words, Vince!:cool::thumbsup:
(But your haiku for the trapper in the ABC thread was pretty impressive! ;))

Why did the wild turkey cross the road?
View attachment 1190226 He thought he was a chicken.:p
:thumbsup::cool: Interesting photo, Jeff! I live in the heart of a big city, but each Sunday I walk down a main street to go to church about 1.5 miles from my house. At one point, the street passes through an old cemetery, and 2 weeks ago I saw 2 huge wild turkeys wandering among the headstones close to the street. I'd often seen geese in there, but that was the first time for turkeys!

My goodness. After two more weeks of camping out in nature, I'm finally back to civilization for awhile. My daughter and I had a grand old time bikepacking, canoeing, camping, and generally wreaking havoc throughout the Adirondack Mountains. It's amazing to think that as a father, it's even possible to have a best friend in my own teenage daughter. But there it is. We're inseparable these days, so much trust having been built up through our experiences together.

Great post, Buzz!:cool::) Congrats to your daughter and you for all the adventures you've had together this summer!

Thank you x2, Gary!

White cross red Pioneer (grail knife) with that well used look. Case Sowbelly with a future of more photos.:thumbsup: I assume that a Sowbelly of the Week means you'll carry one every week over the next 52 weeks, correct?
...
Thanks, Dean. :) Yes, I've separated the sowbellies from the other stockman patterns into their own category, so I'll have one of my 10 sowbellies in my pockets every week.

Today is another day with my new favorite Stockman.

Handsome knife, and I appreciate that you're not one of the people who is prejudiced against spey blades! ;):thumbsup:

Couple of classic Cases! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Some fine looking porkbelly, GT. Good on ya, Half/Stop Half/Stop .

As impressive today as it was yesterday!:cool::thumbsup: Is that an ebony Presidential, or one of the dark micarta models?

Still have the Ulster Cattle Jr. in pocket. Just a beautifully made knife, with consistently firm pulls and snap on all blades.

Thanks for posting that beguiling knife again, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup:

Looks like it was a 2 TEWs Tuesday today
...
Harry
Thanks for giving that pair a ride for old times' sake, Harry! I'm always happy to celebrate two TEWs Tues with you.:cool::cool:

Thanks, Harvey. Here are the fruits of my Labor Day (dove hunt). The bacon was so thick that I knew it would not wrap around the breasts, so I laid it on the top for larding. (I was too lazy to go downstairs to get thinner bacon - and, aah, thinner bacon??)

You will note that no folders were sullied in this culinary endeavor, only culinary cutlery. God be my witness.

I've never had dove (except for Dove Bars ), but that looks savory, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: Somehow, the impression I've developed is that "too lazy" is not a description that fits you! :D

Thanks Gary, looking forward to your new schedule, four good 'uns there my friend :)

Morning folks, this thread sure is flying! Carrying these two today, hope everyone is having a good week
