Yeah, that can happen. My only complaint, is that I'd prefer it without half stops on the secondaries. When I'm opening the sheepfoot blade, it kinda twists my thumbnail a little bit. I'm getting used to it, though. Either my nail is toughening up, or I'm learning how to pull my nail out of the nick in time. If that makes any sense.![]()
Very nice looking knife, and I'm sure it's function is stellar as well. The maple leaf shield is a nice touch. Nice flame, too.
I think this one just might be my most beautiful “wood” covers on any knife I’ve ever owned a long with fit and finish . Personal preference of courseVery nice looking knife, and I'm sure it's function is stellar as well. The maple leaf shield is a nice touch. Nice flame, too.
Thanks for the thanks and encouragement, JJ.
I look forward to seeing the classics you post each day, and your pre/post war pair is no exception!![]()

Finally get to participate in all the "Ebony and Ivory" fun! Pair of Camillus made knives today. Buffalo horn Moore Maker 4 1/8" Trapper and "French Ivory" Camillus 66. Another from the estate sale. A little work to do on the blades still, but after getting it cleaned up yesterday I couldn't leave it at home. From what I've found, this tang stamp puts it between 1946 to 1950? Someone with more knowledge than I feel free to confirm or refute.

A pic is worth 1000 words, Vince!
Great post, Buzz!My goodness. After two more weeks of camping out in nature, I'm finally back to civilization for awhile. My daughter and I had a grand old time bikepacking, canoeing, camping, and generally wreaking havoc throughout the Adirondack Mountains. It's amazing to think that as a father, it's even possible to have a best friend in my own teenage daughter. But there it is. We're inseparable these days, so much trust having been built up through our experiences together.

Thanks for giving that pair a ride for old times' sake, Harry! I'm always happy to celebrate two TEWs Tues with you.
I've never had dove (except for Dove BarsThanks, Harvey. Here are the fruits of my Labor Day (dove hunt). The bacon was so thick that I knew it would not wrap around the breasts, so I laid it on the top for larding. (I was too lazy to go downstairs to get thinner bacon - and, aah, thinner bacon??)
