What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

GEC Huckleberry Boys Knife
PVJ0mug.jpg
 I've had this same knife with me for the last couple weeks (again). Great knife, great size.

Posting the same knife every day probably doesn't draw as much attention.
But I have to say, I like it when I see somebody developing a favorite knife. Gives it so much more meaning.

It has been a favorite for a while but carried somewhat sparingly so as to preserve it but I like it so much I figured why not carry it much more often. It's dang near perfect as an edc and if the worst should happen I do have several more.

Thanks Jack, I’ve had a nice weekend! Meeting Duncan and Paul at the 2017 Rendezvous was definitely a treat. Both are genuinely great guys. Pam and I look forward to seeing them again hopefully in April at the Oregon show! :D

I couldn't agree with you more Ron, couple of great guys :)

Thank you Gary!

That's a nice one Nick :) I must get some of my penknives out

Jack, is your GEC #85 a Forum Knife with cap lifter? Wonderful pair :thumbsup::cool:, and I especially like the second photo, but why do all the sheep have red marks on their hindquarters??
...

I carry these four every day, regardless of what my rotation schedule dictates:

Thanks Gary, yes, it was the forum knife :) Intelligent question about those sheep my friend. Farmers here mark them with dye (various colours) for a number of reasons, a lot of sheep here are just grazed on the moor, so it allows farmers to identify their stock, but dyes are also used for all sorts of other reasons, to denote which ones have been vaccinated for instance, or which ones need treatment of some kind. Dyes are even used to denote which ewes have been visited by the ram. In some cases I guess it also means they are off to market!

Always a treat to see your Eternals :)

Thank you Jack!!! The addition of your EO bullet end jack to your HHB is superb!:thumbsup:;)

Thank you very much JJ

A well deserved win Dave. Glad it finally made it to you! Thanks to Jack Black Jack Black for his never ending generosity.

...

Thanks a lot Jack. Your kind words always appreciated!

Mr Black's 2019 Ironwood Lambsfoot today for my carry. Hope everyone gets the week off to a good start!

That's very kind of you Mark, lovely pic of your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot :)

Cool pic Harvey :)

I've been over in the City of York today, carrying my Damascus Lambsfoot and #44 Buffalo Jack :) Hope everyone's week is off to a good start

Cool knife, cool picture, Harvey.

My long time friend, Uncle Henry 897 stockman. I've had this one since 1985.

Very handsome old friend, Dean, and a svelte new one.

As it happens I'm carrying two knives again today that have struck me that way when I seen others post them. One is the Case canoe, and the knife that was posted that gave me that twinkle in my eye was yours GT, I thought the deep blade etch of the Indian was the bees knees. The other I'm afraid I cant pinpoint the exact person or knife, although it may have been D Duckdog that posted a one armed barlow with stepped bolsters that I thought was really cool. When I saw a nice example in a case at the antique mall my heart skipped a beat. Anyways heres a reused pic

A pair of aces, David.

Certainly a couple of stunners Stuart! The Case is very nice but "carbon keeps cutting!":thumbsup::D

My Saturday totes are a couple of wildly popular patterns from their countries of origin; a BSA Fieldmaster scout from Switzerland and a CJ Barlow from England.:D

Thanks, JJ, and that Barlow is bonkers.

Small and sweet, Alan.

SW Junior Cattle knife and an old PAL for Saturday :)

That's a precious pair, Steve, Beautiful.

Boy, that POPS!

A truly grand old classic.

My Peanut of the Week is a stainless Case delrin model I won in the first GAW I entered on The Porch (thanks, Cory):

Pretty pleasing peanut, GT.

Very nice NYKC congress, Nick. It looks great for a knife that's at least 88 years old.

Great setup for another harvest Stuart; heck you can even snap into a 'biner and rappel to your final firing position!:thumbsup::cool:

After seeing @5K Qs chose a sowbelly in his knife trio, I decided my Sunday totes would be another "surf and turf" version; a BB Winchester sowbelly in abalone and an Imperial EO jack in bovine.

Thanks, JJ, and that's a gorgeous pair that you were totin'.

I'm carrying these two today, my very first GEC, a kind gift from my dear friend Duncan @Campbellclanman , along with the Hartshead Barlow which seems to be glued to my pocket at the moment ;)

Great choices, Jack, and fine pictures, to boot.

Jeffery Mitchell coffin jack with hakkapela damascus.

A coffin like that would take me to heaven, Alan.

Very nice work, Jeff, and another old knife saved.

This nice little Boker today. Have a great Sunday.

A bodacious Barlow, Mark.

I’m starting off again this morning with my Case 6347. Later in the day I’ll probably change up after I get back home. I hope everyone has a great day! :)

Yep, that's 'bout right, Ron.

These old timers make great EDCs. No worries! - just a couple from a bunch I rotate. I think the shield is from the early 40's? The Barlow possibly earlier. Great snap, half stops & decent centering on both.

Those old Shapleighs are pretty special.

Carrying my new Calf Roper and a #43

Totin' "new" is sorta new for you, Steve. Nice!!

I agree with the others, Harvey - beautiful picture.

Your double yellow is mellow, Stuart, and that Case stockman is definitely attractive!:cool::thumbsup: You should hunt down a Case like that for yourself. ;)

Thanks, GT. I laying a trap for my buddy who has the Case stockman.

Stuart, those doves don't have a chance against you! ;) With your ear plugs, they can't even count on your hearing their pleas for mercy!

As fast as they were flying, I was the one left weeping and wondering, GT.

Todays totes are a Bull Moose from GEC and a Daddy Barlow from the Robeson strawberry bone era. :D

That Robeson is ravishing, JJ.

I didn’t get to carry stag on Saturday. :) So, I’m making up for it today! ;)

And, boy, didn't you make up for it!!

That's a good look at your new jigged bone covers, Jeff. Thanks for the pic.

Queen #10 today

A jack of diamonds, Steve.

Sweet little Parker, Alan.

Today's light rider

Wow, Gev. WOW!!

These 2 today to ward off the blues from that Monday guy, watch out for that one time...

Stupendous Schrades, Nick. (Though not all blues and bad or sad.)

- Stuart

Looks grand, Dean!:cool::thumbsup: What made you decide to start carrying it now?

Thanks for the compliments, Dean. :) My peanut would have looked even pointier if my pic hadn't cut off the tip. :( I hope the new schedule doesn't disappoint you; not a lot of new knives, but I'm sure there are many new (essentially random) combos due to the way I put it together with each category independent of the others.

- GT

Thank you, Gary. I carried the Uncle Henry 885 because I'm on a stockman kick lately and I kinda forgot I had this one.:D:eek:

Charming knife, Dean; I can see why you've kept it for a third of a century! ;):cool:

I carry these four every day, regardless of what my rotation schedule dictates:

Thank you, Gary! I could have said I've had it a little over half my life.:)

It's always good to see your Fantastic Four.:thumbsup:
Very handsome old friend, Dean, and a svelte new one.

- Stuart

Thank you, Stuart!

Half/Stop Half/Stop - Two different expressions of Stag. Both are lovely, Ron.
Thank you Harvey! :)

Yep, that's 'bout right, Ron.

And, boy, didn't you make up for it!!
Thanks on both counts Stuart! :)

" Blue on blue. Sky's in your eyes." (Apologies to Joni Mitchell.) I'm totin' a Case of the blues today.

So you’re singing the Blues today! Looking good Stuart!

Schrade Barlow circa 1904 - 1946.

Beautiful old Schrade there Dean! You can’t beat that peach seed jigged bone! :)

This Case Single Blade Trapper is earning its keep and a place in my pocket. I had to cut through some thick strapping material and the knife that was currently in my pocket wasn't "cutting" it. I grabbed the Yellow Trapper and sliced right through it. There's something very handy about a bigger, well constructed, thinly ground knife.
