Impressive cumulative blade length in that pair! ;):thumbsup:
Thanks Gary!!! The Robeson has an edge like a 4" scalpel!
I used this bit in a Dremel.
Put on the cheaters/magnifying readers, and picked out one of my Voos knives to set in front of me for inspiration.
Working in your own jigging is awesome Jeff; very impressive!;):thumbsup:
Rams foot and a Remington
Wonderful pair Steve; I find the old Remingtons steel hones to among the best edges I've ever encountered!:thumbsup::D
Thanks JJ. That Beechwood Mam is real nice.
Thanks Harvey!!! Love the excellent depth your photo reveals of that wonderful jigging!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Have the 72 with me today after I applied some potassium permanganate to the covers. I really like how it turned out. Much prefer this darker brown to the more orangey color before. I liked this knife a lot before I applied the PP but now I really love it!:)
Looks great!

Thanks very much Mark, you got a great bargain there, fine pattern :)

Thanks a lot Gary :)
:thumbsup:Thanks Jack

Ain't estate sales wonderful? Beautiful old Case. I might carry a "new" estate sale find myself today :)
Heck yeah and Thank you! Keeps me coming back looking for more! I'd love to see your new one.:)

Wow Paul! You got a beautiful example my friend! :D

Mark, it doesn’t get much better than that XX 6292!
Thanks Ron! Totally agree my friend!

Nice! You have a beautiful one with great bone color.

I guess it was no surprise that the bigger knives fared the best.

Nice reverse dogleg, Dave.
Thanks a lot John. Even more beautiful color in person.

That’s a stunner to me!

Wow. This is why I like to poke around a flea market once in a while.
That’s nice at any price.

I appreciate your compliments and interest, my friend! Very kind.

No, not the razor blade thing. Sometimes, after I get the last pin in, and test out the pull, and how well the spring and blade work together, the pull is too hard. This one was darn near impossible to open, I couldn’t imagine using it like that after sharpening the blade.
I found a thread from a few years ago in which @glennbad mentioned carefully working the blade tang to ease the pull. It works. And also helped my understanding of how the tang and spring work together in opening, half stops, and closing.

I grew this sugar maple from seed, and it’s now about 14 or 15 inches at the base. Every year, one particular branch starts to turn color while the entire rest of the tree is solidly green still.
Thanks Jeff, one find like this keeps me stopping at flea markets, garage sales & antique stores for a long time! Wonderful work you've done on those rehabs thanks for showing.

Mark, that knife at a flea market for fifteen bucks! o_O
Wow  I'll keep looking. It's slim pickings around here, but seeing your knife helps to keep the dream alive. :)
I'm crazy for serpentine jacks.
I am in equal measures: happy for you, and green with envy.

Michael
Thanks Michael! I love serpentine jacks as well especially the slightly larger ones. The small chance of finding a good score keeps me always on the lookout wherever I go.

Excellent knives, Gary. I've looked at the silver Alox Classic for years - I so wish they had a toothpick in those because they are really good looking. The Case Humpback stockman is a treasure and a great gift!:thumbsup:

Thank you! Bucks are cool. I carried a Cadet as my one and only for about a year several years ago; it's a great knife, too.

That's a fantastic knife and find, Mark!:thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary, for your kind comments. :)
Thanks Dean! To say I was thrilled is an understatement my friend!

That looks great Nick! I’ve got a Northfield #73 two blade with Burnt Orange Jigged Bone that I believe will greatly improve with this same treatment. :)

For some reason I only had 1 knife in my pockets . This don't happen often . Needed to carry my 2015 Red .Sawcut 77 Barlow .

Harry
As you well know Harry, that one is a personal favorite of mine! :D

That 73 is outstanding Ron . Is it a Nail Breaker ???

Harry
Thanks Harry! :) I actually got this beautiful #73 last year from our mutual friend Ron after the Rendezvous. I’m probably not the best judge on the “Nail Breaker” question. I never really have any issues, but I’m going to say it’s an 8. :D
