What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I really like the "shield" on the synthetic covers of the Imperial (I have a stockman of that style, from Imperial Ireland).

What's the handle material on the Buck? Doesn't look like the "sawcut Valox" I'm accustomed to seeing.
I like the nylon on those Irish Imperials better than whatever Case put on their shadow stockmans.

I think it's the same old sawcut valox, just with funny light, bad photography, and maybe some odd wear.
Another example of bad photography and bad light:

Stag or Ebony?? That's the Churchill question that paralyzes me! Glorious knives, guys!:thumbsup::cool:
(I suppose the question is moot, since neither version is easy to find.)

Your stag 29 is a looker, Jeff!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Magnificent Hawbaker muskrat and sublime sowbelly, Greg!:cool::thumbsup:

...
I really should get an alox!
...
Which Alox model speaks to you, Jeff?

Today in my pocket.;)
...
Bewitching Bulldog Barlow, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

...
Hanging out watching some college football this afternoon. I doubt I’ll be cutting anything, but if I do I’m well armed...
...
That red jigged bone barehead clip/pen jack is mighty fine!:cool::cool:

Had my canoes with me today.
...
That redbone Case and the GEC #16 are both commendable canoe, @Travman !:thumbsup::cool:

Was carrying the GEC 72 and 73 in Stag because this day ends with a "Y " , then the mail came with the 61 from @Zachary then carried all 3 the rest of the day .

Harry
Congrats on the new GEC #61 half congress, Harry!:thumbsup::cool: They say the third knife is a charm! ;)

...
That's a pretty cool peanut, GT.

Thanks for noticing, Stuart. :)

A fancy knife para Domingo:

Spanish navaja with polished stag handle, by Artesania Herreros in Albacete.
Maravillosa navaja, Vince!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Case closed - that is a terrific trio you are totin', GT. Each one just beautiful.

...
You have quite a splendid trio today Gary; quite the bounty of cool Case lovelies!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
I appreciate your approbation, Stuart & JJ. :)

Todays totes are a couple of older Imperial scouts; a Hammer Brand Kamp King from 1936-37 and another Kamp King from 1946-56.:)
...
Impressive, immaculate Imperial scouts, JJ!:cool::thumbsup: I don't think I've ever seen striped covers like those on the Hammer Brand!

...
Morning folks, hope everyone is having a great weekend :) My Sunday carries are a Waynorth Lambsfoot from Charlie, and a Kent Fish Knife from Rachel :)
...
The jigged bone WCLF is such a ravishing knife, Jack!:cool::thumbsup: I like that fish knife, too, but I'm not sure how practical the scaling "teeth" on the spine of the clip point are; I think my typical grip would have thumb or index finger pressing onto the cutting edge of the clip whenever I wanted to scrape scales from a fish!

...
Totin some Case Chestnut CV goodness today. I waited for some more light to get a better photo of my choices. I’ve got a SBJ and a Peanut. :D
...
Chestnut is the best nut, Ron! ;) That's a superb pair!:cool::cool:

...
I've been carrying the new Stockyard Whittler every day, but I still like the really old knives, too. HOME (Holley & Merwin) 1850s-ish
...
That old white bone (?) "lambsfoot" is a striking sesquicentennial-plus knife!!:cool::cool:

The black stuff in top left is walnut husk from where a tree rat dismantled a nut.

Probably planted right smack in the middle of the lawn.
Wondrous Wenger and Whittler, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

A classic #67 today
...
Captivating Camillus stockman, Steve, and fantastic match between the rock and the knife handle!:thumbsup:;)

Great looking knife indeed ! No bouldering for me, the left hip hurts for no good reason o_O. rolled out of bed yesterday and serious pain....this too shall pass...prayers accepted...lol
I hope the hip heals in a hurry, Gev!:thumbsup: Joint discomfort, especially with no warning, is the pits. :(

Sorry to hear of the hip pain Gevonovich Gevonovich . Prayers sent.
Super classy ebony Waynorth Cutlery lambsfoot, Greg!:thumbsup::cool:

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you GT. Your LamBarJack is as sweet as your image.

I'm grateful for your dual endorsement, Harvey. :)

Notable blade mod on that knife, Harvey!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think Case calls their synthetic Zytel. I like that shot of 6 knives!:thumbsup::thumbsup: That Buck 307 must be gargantuan!

Those are a great couple of carries, Jack. The fish-knife is a wonderful gift from Rachel.:thumbsup:

Thanks, Dean. :) Since I don't try to coordinate my rotation schedule across the various categories, I sometimes get surprises like this week where a couple of different categories happen to contain a knife with an anchor shield (both obtained to "fill the gap" until I get a genuine Otter Ankermesser ).

The coloring on the jigged bone makes that one of the most recognizable TCs on The Porch, Dean!:cool::thumbsup:

Lambsfoot of the Week is LamBarJack, my rosewood Hartshead Barlow:

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is this small sodbuster from JJ Martinez:

Thank you for your answer and kind comments, Gary. :) Those are two terrific knives that are part of your carry this week.:thumbsup:

Thanks Harvey, the Kent Fish Knife was a gift from r8shell r8shell :)
It's nice to know that old fish knife is getting out and seeing the world. ;)

Since you point it out...maybe you're supposed to do the descaling with the blade in the closed position? o_O
Thank you Rachel, you too my friend :) The Stockyard Whittler looks like a good pattern, and that's a beautiful oldie

That old white bone (?) "lambsfoot" is a striking sesquicentennial-plus knife!!:cool:
Thank you, guys. The old HOME was a very lucky find, listed with an understatement: "old bone handled knife- condition used" It wasn't until it showed up and I cleaned it up enough to read the tang, post pictures, and get help from the experts in the Old Knives Thread that I knew just how old.

It's a great knife Rachel, I've only had the shell-handled Richards/Imperial/Jowika ones before, but this is much better :) Looks like that Home is going to be sitting at the head of the table in your rest home for well-loved old knives ;) :)
