What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Awesome pair, love the bolsters, the shield and it’s placement and that serious bowie looking blade on the folder! Really nice stag on both knives too.

Terrific toothpick to cut through that humidity; I certainly remember that weather!

I feel your pain Stuart! We’ve set something like 20 heat records since the beginning of September! The heat indexes have been in the 100’s more times than I care to count! :( That Kutmaster Pick is a classic!:cool:

Thanks, guys. It was another hot one today, too, Ron. I had to cut my day at the range with the Winchester Model 94 short as we were both overheating. It liked the spitzers.

Fascinating picture, Harvey. (I saw your subsequent comment about the mod, and it's even more so.)

Wondrous whittler, Gev.

That's a beauty, r8shell.

This German whittler for me today.

Glorious, Nick. Such a winsome whittler.

Today's totes are a tough old US scout and a German made Barlow; a 1946-53 Pal scout and a 1993 Burnt Chimney by Boker.:)

An unusual, yet very handsome pairing, JJ. There's a lot there in that pair.

I'm starting my week off with these two, from William Rodgers and Winchester :) Have a good week posters

Jack, one of your proud pair inspired my post of today. Thanks for sharing them.

Today with Case mini trapper.;)

Very nice, José. I like totin' them, too.

You called it, Ron - classic carries in every way.

Very pretty pairing, Gary.

Great picture, Harvey. Again!

Wow! That's a handsome old fella, Dean.

A luminous pairing, Tom.

These two for a rainy Monday

They've brightened my day, Steve. (You didn't snatch them from @Buzzbait , did you?)

Blue Monday...

Blue, indeed. Blueberry pie covers? I like it.

A beauty of a jack Nick; i was drooling earlier on the "old knives" forum!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you so much JJ!

Morning folks, thought I'd carry another pair of oldies today, a Saynor Lambsfoot and a Ryalls Sleeveboard
That sleeveboard is beautiful Jack, excellent!!

One from the pile, Heritage Jack, bottom. All steel construction.

VH39und.jpg
All are nice but the second one from bottom is super nice!

I don't know why I never carried this one before yesterday, but I should have started sooner!

Love that knife Paul!!

Glorious, Nick. Such a winsome whittler.
Thank you Stuart!

I’m toting it again today

Cool find Stuart :)

I really like your patient exploration of your step dad’s legacy. Not sure I’d have the maturity or patience to not open everything at once!

That is just all kinds of cool right there Stuart;)

All I can say is it doesn’t surprise me in the least bit Stuart! I’ve had the good fortune to see your cutlery conservatory. Those are beautiful knives my friend!:cool:

The "Duckdog Museum of Cutlery" is an amazing place to visit; you have treasures at every turn!:thumbsup::eek:

Those older Case Jack Knives are just phenomenal, aren't they?

Stuart, I hope that titanic toothpick tends to turn down the temps!:cool::thumbsup:

"upset your storage scheme" made me laugh out loud at breakfast today! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The rest of the post brought a tear to my eye (shared joy, or envy??); congrats on your triple find!

Thank you to all y'all. @Amir Fleschwund Jeff, as Ron can tell you, my maturity is ephemeral. My "problem" with organizing the load of knives that my stepfather left to me is that (1) the space is tight due necessary storage of dove/duck/goose decoys, several hundred LPs and CDs (and cassettes) of mostly bluegrass/country/soul music left to me by a friend, and idled audio equipment (Miss Norma's redecorating.), and lots of kitchen stuff; and (2) I've been extremely busy using the decoys, downloading the STACKS of CDs into my PC, and cooking up a storm with some of that stuff. Oh, and he left me more knives than I've been able to organize. Maybe I don't want to get to the last piece. I don't know.

Yep, that's fine.

Todays Tuesday totes are both trappers; a GEC made Schrade in the #23 pattern and a Camillus made tribute to the courageous fire fighters.:)

Both are nice, JJ, but the GEC/Schrade is a beautiful beast.

Morning folks, I'm carrying two oldies today, an Alfred Blackwell Lambsfoot, and a 4-line Camillus EO Jack gifted to me by Mr @paulhilborn :)

Bonnie bone, Jack. The Camillus looks like a well-marbled steak.

In the pocket today! :thumbsup::)

I can see why, Ron. I need to take better care of my totes, as those are gorgeous.

GEC #43 Oregon Trapper (thanks @Chief !), and Case #6254 Trapper with a “Peabody Coal Co” blade etch.

I favor that Case, Jeff, though both are very worthy carries.

Nice pair there, Steve, and they are beautifully displayed.

I am trying to decide which knives to take with me to South Dakota for a hunting trip later this month. I think these two will make the cut (pardon the pun). My typical small fixed blade daily carry will be replaced by a buck ranger.

Nice combo for a hunting trip, Tom. All possibilities covered. I'm taking my son out to SD near the end of the month for pheasants. I think that this will be our fifth trip together, and the first after a three year break (he's been married three years).

Toting this new to me Challenge teardrop.

Lovely "new" knife, Nick. It look fabulous for such and old knife. Pre-1928 correct?

It came as quite a surprise to me when I opened his bag, and Unrolled his rag, to reveal a well travelled Imperial Barlow! I had gone through the bag before, remembering the other tools, but I have no recollection of the knife being there...which I would expect would have been the first thing I noticed.

Anyways, it’s just nice to think that my grandfather was with us for our first two-wheeled ride.

Great story, Mike. Thanks for sharing it.

Damm-lamma-ding dong, Dean. Those are pretty fine. Nice picture, too.

Sowbelly stockman this week is a Marbles stag bone model (thanks, Randy):

"Regular" stockman this week is a Schrade USA 34OT (thanks, Dave):

Those two are terrific, GT. Regardless of your rotation, you are totin' something special with admirable regularity. (Conundrum?)

Here is the one I kept Kevin, @flatblackcapo . I am glad to see you are using yours. These are incredible. They are some of the very few current production Case knives that can stack up against the vintage ones. Enjoy it!!

That's IT, hands down.

Mexican sport fishing license in hand, up at 3 to head to the airport. Headed to a little fishing village south of LaPaz for a few days. Never been there and never fished for anything that swims in those waters so it will all be a new adventure. Taking just these two Victorinox SAK’s along. Should something happen and I lose them, they make more everydayo_O

You are well equipped, Jim. Have a safe and fun trip. Tight lines.

Thanks for the compliment Stuart! :) It set another record high here today. :( Those spitzers are supposed to be great in tubular magazines.

You know what Stuart! ;) I don’t remember seeing any of those other things when I was there. I must have been suffering from knife blindness!!:D

They are. My Marlin 336C (.35 Rem., 1972) likes them a lot, but have yet to use them on hogs.

You are a true knife-nut friend, Ron.

Thanks Stuart! The knives and I made it but some dirty buggers at the airport got into my suitcase and took some shirts:confused::confused: Who takes shirts but leaves me socks and underwear??? Good thing I carried some stuff with me. Hopefully tomorrow there will be some good photos of fish....with knives of courseo_O
