Yeah, that is great:thumbsup:

Bling for Sunday, a SS 1st gen Frank Buster Cutlery MOP stockman @ 3.8" closed (which is a VERY nice size that seems to be unique to German stock knives).

Beautiful knife!
So 3.8 inches, that's 3 13/16 inches a little heavy or just shy of 3 7/8", by my reckoning.
Is that right?

Yes, it's actually closer to 3¾ than it is to 3⅞, which is a common size. 3⅝ is also a common size, but 3¾ is not.
Frank Buster also did not make very many in stainless steel.

Gotta remember to google "Camargue Cross"! ;)
JJ, that Puma has covers that match the platonic ideal of stag, and Bulldog stockman illustrates the more (blades), the merrier!:thumbsup::cool:
Dynamite duo, JJ!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What are the four little stamps in the bolster of the Schrade-Wostenholm? I have a stag canoe like that, and 2 of the stamps are obviously maker's initials, but the other 2??
It's quite a diverse and beautiful region of France;):thumbsup:
Thanks Gary; the Bulldog certainly has plenty of sharp edges:eek: Thanks again!!! The stampings are known as hallmarks and are, as you thought, the maker's mark and the "1" refers to 1981; typically I've seen these stamps on silverware and other precious metals, kinda cool!

I think Fisherman's Market here in Eugene will be a place we frequent often. Can't believe how hard it was to find good seafood in Alaska. Nothing like this, thrice the price.
I've been craving fish & chips since I first saw this; looks delicious!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

JJ Cahill JJ Cahill - Thank you kindly, JJ. YEAH...Abercrombie & Fitch was far different a long time ago. I’d walk in and see a store filled with item suitable for expeditions.:)

Very cool Sheffield made Schrade. What’s the halting material? Bone ?...Perfect Scout, too.
What a great old flyer from the original A&F; it was always a great adventure just looking at all the marvelous gear they had!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you Harvey!!! The covers on the Schrade are a yellow micarta; it would be cool if they were Westinghouse!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good Modded Micarta Monday!
If one is good, two is better.
View attachment 1209315One is the first modification I tried, the black one is the first TL-29 I ever got. Both are older- evidenced by the separate pin for the lanyard loop placed forward. Later models mounted the loop on the spring pin farther back.
This handle material, which I thought was Bakelite, is actually called Rogers board. It’s not the molded plastic like the later ones. The original owner’s name is engraved in the pile side of the blade, and it was lovingly cared for, which will continue. View attachment 1209316 I bought that modded one specifically to learn on. A previous owner had attempted a crude carving of a snake wrapped around a cross, which I was happy to remove.
