Rose and Thistle Custom Rose and Thistle Custom , Josh, have you made the move to Oregon? I bet it feels strange being out of Alaska. Please let us know how things go.
Sorry I took so long to respond. You're right, very different, not just like another country, almost like another world. So much more beautiful, not as rough and dirty. People are friendlier, shipping is faster AND cheaper, more job possibilities. Longer days (when it's not summer).
I'm getting my shop set up as quickly as possible and looking for a job. Our car is in the dealership getting a bunch of work done, when she comes out it'll be time for some drives to explore.
About the only disappointing thing is that we have to be here 6 months before fishing licenses drop to resident prices. We love fishing and my favorite is bluegill which I really missed in AK.
Oh, and fresh fruit/produce is so nice!

Rootin' Tootin'
I just got this fun little knife in the mail. It's a small Hammer Brand made in the 50s. I don't think this thing had been sharpened or cleaned in 50 years. So, I cleaned it up, put an edge on it, oiled the joints, and stuck it in my pocket. I think I saw the sheriff smile a little bigger. It's a well-built little knife with good snap in both directions and no wobble. I think it will make me smile every time I pull it out of my pocket. :)
