What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Breathtaking brace of Barlows, JJ!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you Gary!!!
Thank you JJ. I have an abiding fondness for shadow pens, especially those with such beautiful jigging. You show two great examples.
Thank you kindly Sir!!!

Great shot of your wonderful BF Buck Harvey; probably the nicest slip-joint folder I've seen from Buck, cool blade combo!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Crucible made some fine knives in a short history ( c. 1926 - 1929 ) What a fine knife ! I thought I made a thread called the Crucible Boys ? and Kevin
(@veitsi_poika ) found some great stuff on them ? memory loss or a dream...lol

We need a thread " The Crucible Boys " ;):) I could have sworn ...
Thank you and thanks for the link Gev!!! It is amazing the short period Crucible was active, possibly cut short by the '29 market crash?:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Superb JJ, I love Shadow penknives
Thank you very much Jack!!!
Had my Hartshead Barlow with me today...

Thank you, Jack.
Halloween at Grumble Towers...:D
I don't think I can get anyone to settle down to watch Black Sheep tonight, but I will before the weekend is out.

I didn't end up watching it myself in the end either Rachel, maybe tonight, been a few years since I've seen it ;)

First off Jack, HAPPY HALLOWEEN and secondly, I love the earned patina on your Hartshead:cool: annnnnnd, I know what I'll search for on netflix for my nights entertainment:D

Of course I have to carry my Case Halloween Barlow;) well that along with my new Stag Eureka:)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Thanks Paul, Duncan might know some of the Black Sheep film locations! :D ;) Hope you and Nanc had a great Halloween my friend, that's a cool Barlow :)

Thanks, Jack. Tom Krein makes a nice knife. I've got a few of his.
100% chance of rain plus high winds may put a damper on some Halloween fun tonight here.

He sure does Gary, I like his designs and always enjoy seeing yours :) The nearest I have is the Boker version of his Pocket Bowie ;)

Thanks GT! Some black and orange today for Halloween. Also appropriate if you are a fan of GT's Detroit Tigers :).

Great-looking pair Tom

Thanks for the kind words, Jack. :)
Have fun watching Black Sheep. Don't wear any seat covers. ;) :D

LOL! Thanks John :D

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. “Hope springs eternal.” I loved the craziness of “Shaun of the Dead.”
That bread goes great with your HH Barlow.

Thanks Harvey, I'm not sure Black Sheep is in the same league, but novel and funny certainly ;)

Warning: Small children may find this troubling!

For Friday my totes are a couple of black composition covered jacks from the 1930s; a Remington R2203 and a Syracuse Knife Co EO by Camillus.:)

Thanks JJ, fabulous choices there :)

Morning folks, hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween :) Now it's Friday! :)

Carrying my Hartshead Barlow SFO and a vintage Robeson Harness Jack gifted to me by @Campbellclanman in Sheffield some years ago :)

My two Wednesday totes are a couple of wood covered slicers from GEC; a 29 in Orange Osage and a 15 in Ebony.:)
...
...
Morning folks, toting some ebony today :) Have a good one
...
I'll go with the Keen Kutter regular jack today for wooden Wednesday. OH
...
Good morning everyone. I’m totin some wood for Wednesday! ;):D
...
JJ & Jack & Bruce & Ron, what an impressive array of ebullient ebony for Wooden Wednesday!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
The osage orange is a nice contrast, JJ & Ron!

Good Case wood and amusing reflection!:thumbsup:;)

Totin' The Wolf and a Case Medium Jack
...
Grand pair of knives, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What's the cover material for that Case?

Thanks Gary, the Farmer is a solid choice my friend
...
Thank you, Gary! The Edge on the Lancer is totally due to Buck's sharpening before selling (which I have always appreciated).

We both seem to be the beneficiary of a Vic Farmer (thanks again). :) That's a fine foursome for the week, Gary.
Thanks, Jack & Dean. :) I like the Farmer a lot; I'm thinking about getting my Dad one for his 90th birthday next year.

I am carrying this jack I made out of a TL-29 in bocote...View attachment 1222564
Meritorious mod, Jeff; that's attractive bocote!:cool::thumbsup:

Now that temps have dropped in the Northeast, and I'm not constantly camping outside, I finally managed to pry the SwissTank out of my pocket. I still haven't kicked the Vic stainless habit though. The OC red Framer gets the nod today, with some nice hunters plaid paracord. After carrying a SwissChamp for 4 or 5 months straight, I'd forgotten how wonderfully robust these 93mm alox models are.
...
I like the red and the orange jumping out from your pics, Buzz and David!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Raising the spirit level...fine Sir ;):)
You're too kind, Gev! :)

It is a cold, rainy day. These two both feel “warm” to me.
...
2 folders on consecutive days! That's unusual for you, Tom! ;) Lovely ligneous pair!:cool::cool: What's the wood on the Maserin?

5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you kindly, GT. Those spiral cookies are part of an assortment of what I consider as a harbinger of the Holiday Season. In the blue tin, Danish Butter Cookies. Perfect for noshing while performing tasks like participating in the Forum, etc.:)

Your “cracked ice” Imperial has a lot of personality. Love your Nieto birch Climber.
...
Thanks for the cookie info and for the props for my knives, Harvey. :)
Superb pic of your ebony Waynorth lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool: Do you know what the black spots on the maple leaf are? Most maples here have been afflicted with that for years, but I don't remember it on our ancient maples when I was growing up on a farm.

...
Quintessential Buck.

Quintessential Case.

Quintessential lambsfoot.
Thrilling trio of essential quintessentials, Vince!:thumbsup::cool:
Another great season for the Astros, even if the ending wasn't what you wanted!:thumbsup:

My millennial (circa 2000) Buck Cadet 303, a onetime EDC. I very good knife to have in your pocket.
...
Charming Cadet, Dean (also with an impressive edge)!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, GT.

Delightful duo, Steve!:cool::thumbsup: On a hosta leaf??

Great picture Steve^^. This one with me on Wooden Wednesday.

Dave, I apologize for not singling out your knives more often. :( I greatly admire almost all of your knives (and your food prep :)), but rarely quote your posts!?!

Some Stag for me today.
...
Eureka Stag....
Those are stunning stag Eureka Jacks, Dylan & Paul!:cool::cool: Maybe it's selective memory on my part, but it seems like all the recent stag Eureka jacks have superb covers.

Leaves keep piling up. Couple AGRs in my pocket today.
...
Those are a couple of intriguing knives, Joel!:thumbsup::cool:

Certainly Gary; thank you very much!!! I have a real fondness for the old Imperial Hammers, like yours, as they were my first foray into that great pre WWII carbon steel!:thumbsup::rolleyes:

You always put together such a marvelous lineup of slicers; that Marbles is quite the cool scout/camp knife, a favorite pattern of mine!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Thanks for the support, JJ. :) I really like the in-line Philips on that Marbles scout.
Your elderly, ruggedly-textured shadow pens are sensational!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary. I mostly read on my iPad or phone, so I don’t often do more than a lot of “liking,” but you should know that I always appreciate your high effort contributions to this forum.

.........nada, rien de tout - not allowed today.

I’m enjoying browsing through all these lovely threads and posts, out in the middle of a cold grey blustery English Channel. Sat in the Observation Lounge of a beautiful new cruise ship on her inaugural trip.........all very grand indeed, but do feel a tad naked without a trusty pocketknife on my belt.

To tomorrow and a great weekend ........

That Canoe doesn't look so "plain", GT. ;)

Grand pair of knives, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
What's the cover material for that Case?
Thank you, GT. :)
The Case cover is "Smooth Black", probably Delrin.

These two Ebony clad SFO’s seemed appropriate for Black Friday. :D

Two beauties, Ron. Great pairing too.:thumbsup:

:D Awesome! :cool::thumbsup:

Been away from the porch too long...Happy Halloween Everyone!

Beautiful grain, but I love the Munch.
It's All Saints day, with a weather to match, mist and drizzle... too wet for a stroll. I stopped because a company of 6 wild hogs followed by 7 or 8 piglets ran across the field towrd the forrest, probably away from hunters. I'm not curious to see which are the most dangerous.
View attachment 1223594
Six wild hogs with piglets to protect sounds pretty dangerous.
We had a guy a few years ago lucky enough to be shot in the chest with a 12-ga slug from what must have been extremely long range. It penetrated the muscle but not the ribs. Must have smarted some, though.
