What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Kris,

Seeing pictures of your dogs affects me so deeply, I can't imagine what it must be like to (get to) be with them. The above photograph is stellar in so many ways. I'm so glad you have them.
~ P, thank you much, they are a big part of our life and we enjoy everyday with them. Hope everyone is having a fine friday evening. Still have my Boker on me

I use to have two KA-BAR stockman knives just like that; you'll really like it! One WWII veteran and one Vietnam veteran needed them more then I did!
I do really like it! I haven't carried such a small knife since I retired my 1950's Queen Pen Knife. I found that knife in 1991 laying in a puddle in the rain on 79th St and 1st Ave in NYC and carried it without fail for about 13 years. Nowadays, the smallest I carry is a barlow or gunstock so this is an interesting change for me. Of course, I still have a bigger knife on me anyway... ;)

Here it is along with my other new Ka-Bar, the Combat Kukri. Yes, I seem to be on a Ka-Bar kick this month. Just wait till you see the other Ka-Bar I've got coming from the Exchange. :D

A splendid little (Office) Knife!

This kicked the Peanut out of my pocket weeks ago. Wish they made more frames in this handle material and in CV.

Case XX
BLACK SYNTHETIC MEDIUM JACK
Pattern Number: 22087 SS

I just snagged one of those medium jack's today, and a G10 stockman. I just couldn't resist anymore, something about that little jack that says 'carry me'.

New Northwoods Indian River jack in my front pocket right now. I hope I can get a picture that shows the ebony covers well, I've never seen ebony like this. Instead of being totally black, the grain goes from a very deep gray through black, no brown at all.

I'm carrying this little blue Schlieper, a surprise gift that arrived in the mail today:

Anyone recall where they may have seen this knife before? ;)

Ditto! Beautiful dog Kris.
I don't know what I would do without my dogs. And I miss my Malamute everyday, she was a great dog.

Hmmm, well other than a nearly identical blue Schlieper mini half-congress that gets a lot of pocket time with me, the only other one I've seen here was residing in Germany IIRC.
Great little knife ~P, and good on you Andi!

Lubing all my knives with Ballistol this morning , still have my Boker with me. I really like this one, nice and thick in hand with great materials. Have a great saturday everyone.

Kris,

Did it have anything to do with the post in Ken Erickson's thread? I always keep my knives clean and lubed, but that picture still made me put a drop of oil in my 85 this morning.

Thats funny, not to do with that thread, I am just a maintenance junky, in all aspects of my life. Just pulled the cork on a Chimay, gotta love saturdays.

Good Saturday to all,

Today I am carrying my backup Peanut (primary Peanut is currently residing in PA at Spa) and my brand new GEC 85 Cocobolo. This is my first wood scaled knife inspired strongly by Kevin's 85 EO. I will be patiently awaiting either another release of the 85 EO in ebony or, coco, or should I happen to fortuitously come across one on the maaarket (sorry Boston roots) I'll scoop it up.

I am really digging it as it is a bit lighter and thinner than the GEC 85 burnt stag, which will find it's way to the FS forum soon. Fit & finish is impeccable! The two knives are resting on two new strops that I purchased from a small artisan shop in CA. They just arrived about 2 hours ago and are stunning in their craftsmanship/quality.

Thanks,
Peter

For the past two weeks it has been a Queen Congress in ACSB, but now it is a 2010 Forum Moose.
