What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thats funny, not to do with that thread, I am just a maintenance junky, in all aspects of my life. Just pulled the cork on a Chimay, gotta love saturdays.

Chimay Blue is my favorite, I was lucky enough to work for Carft Brewers Guild, lots of sampling of great brews.

Kris, I like that Böker a lot. Got the same Lockback but in more modest carbon and Washboard Bone, a fine carry and not too heavy either.

Chimay is heavy though...in the best possible way:D:D:thumbup:

Today, GEC Tidioute White Owl in Ebony. Lot of blade in a compact carry, a stalwart.

Thanks, Will

That selection should just about cover it. :)

I just love the patina and how this knife looks after you hone the edge. I get such a satisfaction after honing my 2011 BF knife and seeing the edge shine, I'm always trying to find excuses to eat acidic foods so I can make the patina darker :p

It is the best way to make your stuff last right :)

Here comes the rain

Thanks Confucius! I love how it looks too. Your 85 will get there over time I believe. Mine got most of the strong patina from mountain biking and the beach. Of course using it for food helps too :)

More pics of your forum knife please!

Another one I just recieved from the Exchange. The seller accidently sent me this instead of a Ka-Bar folder I purchased, but me being the Queen devotee that I am, I accepted his generous offer to buy this one as well. ;) (Like I could have not kept a Queen...) Ka-Bar will be seen here in a few days.

PS- My first "Yeller Knife".

I'm determined to convince my wife to help me photograph my latest purchases including the Boker pen, Bear delrin stockman, Fontenille-Pataud Laguiole and the Northwoods Indian River jack. She bought me the Bear when we stopped at the little country store on the way to the lake last weekend. After I was happily opening and closing it when we arrived at the cottage she said, "now that's enough knives, don't you think?" I just shook my head... :D

My Remington two blade jack. I would think it was from the original factory, except for the brass liners. Now I'm stuck on what a dealer at a show told me in regards to my Camillus scout knife. If it has steel liners, it's an old one.

Although that can be true, lots of old knives had brass liners. The Remington knives with brass liners were generally the higher end knives. That one was made between 1920 and 1940.

Last night I was at my sister's, and I was cooking for a family dinner.
I went back to my "old style" cooking: my kitchen knives stayed home, and I did all the work with one traditional folder...and I didn't miss a thing:

I love the "character" you see in 'old' knives... just something about them... a story, or history or something. Shiny new one's kind of put me off unless they are something unique... Your 'oldies' are beaut's!!

I'm still carrying this one to church today along with my modified Opinel #8 Carbon in a walnut wrapper.
