Thanks a lot JJ, that's some scrumptious stag there my friend
A fine-looking pair JJ, love the Christopher Johnson

Morning folks, hope everyone is having a great weekend :) My day didn't start too well when I broke a dental crown biting into a toasted muffin o_O Hoping the day gets better, and that I can spend some time catching up with various threads here :)

I'm always astounded at the excellence of your Sheffield lambs; your Brookes & Crookes really hits on all cylinders!;):thumbsup:

I'll be at the dentist tomorrow, Jack. Thankfully it's just a cleaning and a checkup. I hope! Sorry to hear about your crown. Sounds like it should be under warranty though...

That picture makes me feel better about carrying 2 or 3 knives! Talk about a knife nut!

Fingers crossed for you Gary! :) Thank you my friend, I'm hoping I can get in today, it should be a quick job, and won't cost me anything

:D

Your knives are both great, and the Black Jack is superb - seems to be the knife for you. :)

Many thanks Dean :)

An instant classic in the pocket knife world.:thumbsup:
No doubt about it, GT.
Skoll is a lap dog now and likes his belly rubs.
Thanks for the compliment and the wolf-training update, John. :)

Carrying my lucky knife today...
It worked!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

To me, this is one of Case’s best current production knives.
Superb sowbelly stockman, LT! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Joshua, I'm elated to see your "El Greco" again!:thumbsup:;)

Thank you, Gary !! You have a few swelterers yourself :D:p
Thanks, Gev. :) Your remark reminds me of the old joke (often presented as an anecdote about Yogi Berra, the baseball player):
She—My, you look nice and cool!
He—Thanks! You don’t look so hot yourself!

Thanks buddy :) You know, the number of dental crowns I've broken over the years, I'm surprised nobody else has referenced the nursery rhyme, though it's usually been eating toffee, liquorice, bread, which have been the cause of my dental misfortune, rather than falling down :)

Thanks again Gary, In answer to your question, I've tried hard to find a non-commercial link to post, without success, but if you search on, 'Fantastic costumes of trades and professions', you should get more information and examples :)
I'm a proponent of stating what "goes without saying", Jack.:D
Thanks for the costume search hint; interesting images!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Carrying these two today: my first pocket knife (the Old Timer) and my father's boy scout knife, both gifts from dad.

Thanks, Dean. :)
Your navy blue bone Case duo is outstanding!:cool::thumbsup:
(Had me looking at blue canoes and Tribal Locks. ;))

I can speak several languages, but I have been unable to master german in all those years of studying. Life is just too short for me to learn german I guess.

Thank you for your advice, GT!
I have been looking into Case 63032 CV (I find pen blade to be more useful for me than spey) and GEC #66 calf roper if I can get one. Given my location, it is easiest and cheapest for me to buy Queen Dan Burke stockman, but I cannot seem to be able to get over stainless steel blade on a traditional folder.

-Peter-
Sorry to interrupt, but by coincidence I just purchased the 63032 CV and find it to be an excellent example. I do favor the spey over the pen blade for reasons of family history, but I love this knife. It’s a beauty!
Case offers so many stockman models that your decision can be based on personal preference.:cool::thumbsup: I recommended a couple of models with round bolsters and spey blades, both features I prefer. ;) But I'm considering getting a 63032 CV in chestnut jigged bone because I'm such a fan of those covers with CV.

Have these 2 in my pockets today . An old VOOS , a gift from @Amir Fleschwund , and a Taylors Eye Witness Lambfoot

The bone on your Voos is beautiful, Harry!:thumbsup::cool:

This Buck Custom Shop 501 with S30V blade steel and Cherry covers has been on my belt this weekend. I've had the knife for several years, but have not carried it as often as I might have. I find it a bit large to carry in my front pocket. I recently purchased a black leather belt sheath for it from Buck; and it works really well for me.
If you've never tried Buck's Edge 2000 blade profile in an S30V blade, you should. It's a treat.

We had a bad bad night with our newborn. In addition our first daughter has her 5th birthday today and she was so excited that she couldn't sleep. As a result I have hardly slept and when I have, it was on the floor. As Murphy's laws dictate, everybody fell asleep only shortly before alarm clock went off.

I forced myself into cold shower, woke up older daughter and drove her to kindergarten. Upon returning home and finding wife and child asleep, I realized there's no point going to sleep at this point. Instead I took a walk along a trail to watch a sunrise from a nearby hill.

Alas, there wasn't any sign of sun showing up today.
IMG-20200106-091221.jpg

Nevermind, what better way to start your day off than watching morning commute from a hilltop?
IMG-20200106-090342.jpg

Being still sore from banging my head for not getting a #66 tidioute calf roper when it was still available, I decided to treat myself to carrying my #66 slim.
IMG-20200106-091148-3.jpg

Then home for a hearty breakfast. The night was terrible, but I love how this scandinavian morning has been unfolding so far.

Morning Snail, hope your day continues to improve - nice 66! Is that the Tacoma Narrows bridge by any chance? I was at Fort Lewis in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s and recall a bridge similar to that. OH
Ps I never got in on the #66 Stockman runs either (need to fix that) but I did manage a #661210 Jack-Knife back from the early days of GEC - and I've never carried it!

You are doing well so far. I had three young ones and can feel your situation. People without kids never really know what it is like to go without sleep. It will probably hit you later in the afternoon. I hope you get a good night’s sleep tonight. Love that 66 Slim. I’ll carry my 66 today.
