Kris

Wow that is perfect!

Wow! that is a very nice knife ^^^^^

Really nice knife Andi. I was very tempted by one on the exchange here, is that the same one? Love the way everything is tucked away nicely, can't help thinking if a maker produced something similar today it would do really well. The question is would they make it to that quality....?

Sam

Hi Sam, I hope I can shed some light onto the question of where that very cool Carl Schlieper came from..
I bought two from Vince, as he managed to score I think from memory 6 - they were old "new stock" that were totally unused, Vince sold the last one very recently- Andi got my Safe Queen - it even still had the old Carl Schlieper tag tied to the bail, and I used my other... to this day its one of my most used knives-just a fantastic knife that I instantly warmed to, the Carbon steel blades sharpen up wickedly, if you ever see another for sale-grab it!

Kris,

One of my FAVORITE things to see is a really nice knife carried and used. Well maintained and properly cared for of course.

Great knife.

Kevin

Thanks for filling the gaps Duncan, nice to hear that my visual impressions of the knife are backed up by your glowing reference (and Andi's too no doubt, lucky chap).

Will definitely keep my eyes peeled now!

No problems Sam, I would promise you mine if I was to sell, but to be honest I dont think I will EVER let go of this knife.

Have a nice saturday, everyone :)

For the last few month's it has been one of these three:-

Opinel no.8 carbon
Victorinox Pioneer
Taylors Eye Witness

Nothing fancy, but they all work very well as an E.D.C.
:)

Now the scales on the SAK are oiled twice, really bringing out the texture of the wood.
Coincidentally, today I only carry knives with wooden scales. Walnut, ebony and lignum vitae.

And these are the best small grapes ever. In Swiss-german they have the nickname "Chatzeseicherli", literally meaning cat-piss ;) but don't ask me why :D
Have a great weekend.

This morning I put my rehandled Colonial barlow in my pocket.

But the USPS tracking tells me I should have a couple new ones (well, new to me) to choose from before lunch time.

Still have my LC in the pocket and joined on my hip by a Sean O'Hare Sparrow in Ash burl and small roses pattern Damasteel, waiting for my genuine stag #25 in the mail today.
