What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I was pleased to have lunch with a visiting @Half/Stop today at our favorite "dog house", the Vienna Inn in Vienna, Virginia, which recently celebrated their 60th anniversary of dog 'n drinks dispensing. In honor of Ron's local carry of a yellow Delrin clad Case Sodbuster and, also, Thirsty Trapper Thursday, I toted a Case 3207 SS trapper for our sojourn. Below you can see our repast of chili cheese dogs with chopped onions (no Vienna sausages were harmed in this venture, though I do love them) and fries. I had a chilled mug of Yuengling lager and Ron opted for iced tea, though you can see his digits crawling towards my mug in the upper left corner.

Friendship doesn't get any more delicious than this. (Oh, and we looked at knives later at my local hardware store and my house, but that's to be expected.)

I really like both these patterns and will be toting them today; an 81 and 71 from GEC. :)
Very fine images of two work horses. Love the 81. Favorite Northfield shield. The lanyard greatly enhances the FF.

Jack Black Jack Black - Much thanks, Jack.

@5K Qs - Thank you kindly, GT. What a cool looking Marbles leg knife.

D Duckdog - You both set a nice table, Stuart.

Changing of the guard! Old EDC is the small one. Carried it about 6 months. Both are 26C3 at 64RC and handled in sheephorn.

Both beautiful knives, Dave! I really like the almost jade-colored horn on the one side of the new one.

I’ve noticed you make some knives where the tang extends down to the heel of the blade, and others where it doesn’t and the sharpened edge runs all the way back (I hope that makes sense?!). Do you find you prefer one over the other?

That’s awesome, Stuart! I’ve been fortunate enough to meet a few friends from the Porch in person, and it’s always a great experience. I‘m hoping I’ll get to meet more of y’all in the future! (Those chili dogs look pretty tasty, too! :D)

I’m carrying this WLST today.

Thanks, guys. We had a fine time and each visit together gets better. (I realized that we both like blue grass and country music, so we were "in tune" all day after I put a thumb drive in my truck media drive: Chris Ledoux, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and George Jones - all day.) When you spend time with a friend, it just flies! And now our dog, Loki, is missing "Mr. Ron".

JJ Cahill JJ Cahill Choice composition, as always :) The 71 is a rugged and very comfortable work-knife in use, mine gets carried a lot. But it's pretty stained up compared to yours.
Thank you very much Will!!! I've really loved this old "folding butcher" design since I was a youngster; the Case Sodbuster was my first single bladed folder. :)
Thank you for the info JJ, that's very interesting, what a lovely mark  Many thanks my friend :)
Another choice pairing JJ :)
Most certainly Jack and thank you very kindly!!!
Thanks for the positive assessment, JJ. :)
Premium pair, JJ!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I don't consider myself a Barlow aficionado, but that Simmons Keen Kutter is impressive!
Your cracked ice Hammer Brands are outrageously fine, JJ!!:cool::cool:
You are certainly welcome, Gary!:) And a double "thanks" for your kind words!!!

Very nice pair of single bladed lovelies; the covers on your "lady leg" are very cool, lots of great character!:cool::thumbsup:

Great Remington jumbo trapper :D:thumbsup:

LOL! :D Very nice David

I get behind fast in this thread lately! In an effort to catch up, I'm quoting only one or two posts from each page; I guess it's a beauty contest! ;)

Superb Tuesday duo, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks for your valued opinion on the Marttiini brand, Jack.:)
Strange to me that engraving should be a skill that we're losing.:(
I like stockman patterns in general, but sowbellies are a quantum leap above for me! ;):cool:

You seem busier now than when you were working full-time Gary! Thanks for the compliment my friend :) That's a combination you don't see every day, I love that photo of your Union Jack :D :)

Great choices Barrett ;)

I like this jazzy cigar framed Harness Jack for today, from GEC's early years. :)

Nice Harness Jack JJ, and I like your taste in music too :) I remember watching a Sonny Rollins concert with my dad, where he falls off the stag mid-set, breaks his ankle, but continues playing hidden behind the stage :D

Think this is the one ;)

Morning folks, yesterday I received a couple of very kind gift packages from two of my fellow Guardians, @Wild Willie and @JohnDF :) Willie sent me a beautifully handmade mini pry-bar/blade key, which has gone straight onto my key-chain, and which is shown with my Hartshead Barlow below  John's package included this lovely little Trapper from Queen. John has no way of knowing, but I've often discussed this exact pattern with two of my knife buddies @ADEE and @scruffuk, as just a perfect little pocket knife :) A lovely knife, and it came razor sharp too  Many thanks for your kindness fellers, I'm very grateful :)

Have a good Friday folks, the weekend is almost upon us! ;)

Believe that GEC has really excelled itself with the latest run of 62 Easy Pocket Congress:cool:
Here, Camelbone, which when you close your eyes and coon finger the knife, you'd think it has no shield it's that smooth. Very good W&T and absolutely no compromises in build-quality. This is the one that gets used, the Jigged Bone & DI are destined to become Knife Mummies ;)
