What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

6a2Ha2J.jpg

I'm totin' this one for at least part of the day in homage to Canal Street Cutlery that has, again, closed up shop. It's a "Pinch" that was kindly given to me by Eric Albers, who worked at CSC with Harold Buley and Dave Swinden, and picked up a few when they were shuttering the first time (note the absence of a shield or other insignia other than the tang stamp). It's a tough business to be in, it seems.

This thread is always taunting me, looking back and shouting, "Catch me if you can!" :(
I found this in Mom's dressing table today. (I'm clearing it out to pass it along.)
...
There was something about this knife I don't quite remember. Something like she bought it and I assumed it was for me but it wasn't.
Neat-o all-metal knife! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Is that a melon tester?

Brief moments of sunshine amidst the showers and storms yesterday and today. I finally found a dry spot to snap a pic of my totes on this Two Trapper Twosday - a pair of Parker Frost "Minks" paired by their serial numbers.

Notable pair of Parkers, Stuart!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Classic beauty, GT. :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks, John. :)

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Classy RR Sowbelly Stockman. You never forget your first. Nice Okapi, GT.
Thanks, Harvey. :) I suspect my memories of my various "firsts" are often inaccurate, but they're there!
Noteworthy duo in your Milner and Ancient TC; the jigging on the Milner is dreamy!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Fantastic Gary; your wonderful "old cross" Pioneer has amazing character!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Most excellent choice and most excellent Pioneer, Gary.:thumbsup:
Thanks, JJ & Dean, that's one of my best knife finds, one that I'd despaired of ever finding at a price I could justify. :) I wish when people see that I, like that Pioneer, am rather faded and have more than a few miles on me, they'd say that I have "amazing character." :D:thumbsup:

For Wednesday these two wood covered totes, in Juniper and Rosewood. :)
...
Noble wood, JJ!:cool::thumbsup: The Camargue cross on the bolster of the top knife is sensational!

...
I much prefer the Okapis WITHOUT lockings rings
...
Jack, I don't have any Okapis with locking rings, but if they're similar to a big Cold Steel Kudu I have (and I think the Kudu is supposed to be some kind of replica of an Okapi model), I totally agree with you!;)
Nifty alphabet soup for you with the HHB LF SFO & GEC PPP GS (gun stock)!:cool::rolleyes:

Needy is what I feel when I see that Northfield 78 with the spear/pen blade combo and checkered bone covers!:thumbsup::cool:

Good Morning Everybody
Got one of my GEC #15's riding with my Lambsfoot today...
...
Not at all shabby, John!:thumbsup::cool:

Today it took me a long time to choose my carries for the day! ;) I came up with my Yellow Delrin CV SBJ and this Parker Cutlery Little Pillbuster. The Parker was a gift from my buddy Stuart D Duckdog . Thanks again Stuart! :)
...
Needful things, Ron! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cv Slimline trapper today.
No-nonsense knife, Willie!:cool::thumbsup: I have one just like yours, and I like it much better than a full-size trapper. Like most of my knives, it gets carried quite infrequently; unlike most of my knives, when it's not in my pocket, it's on the kitchen counter and gets used often.

Was carrying this old Cataraugus Congress this morning and used it to open the Mail.
...
In the Mail was this Old Northfield Congress...
And this brand new Northfield Congress 620220...
Harry
Congrats, Harry!:cool::thumbsup: Nothing tops your Congressional Record for riveting reading. ;)

Case Sycamore wood Saddlehorn and Victorinox Alox Solo.

Nontrivial pair of knives, Dean!!:cool::cool: I think your Vic Solo is identical to my Swiss Army 1, except mine has an "updated" name, right? Great knife, although I'd like to find a Settler some day with Spear and pen blades on opposite ends.

...
There’s a Böker barlow in my pocket today.
Numerous charms to that Böker Barlow!:thumbsup::cool:

Vince, your Laguiole is nimble and nonpareil!:thumbsup::cool:

...
Budget yes! Cheap no! You probably know what I mean by that! I’ve been well pleased with mine Gary!
No doubt, Ron! I have Buck canoes in wood, bone (3), and stag that all give me nonstop enjoyment! ;):thumbsup:

Part of Thursday’s carry
...
I'd nominate that Case canoe as a vessel that could navigate to knife Nirvana!!:thumbsup:;)

Secret Guardian Meeting. Discussing the merits of the Senator.

Maiden Voyage of the 62.

Neighborly Guardians Give Nods to SamDamLamb Senator and to Nourishing Stag on New 62!!;)

...
Powerful pair there, Dylan. After I saw your knives, I went downstairs to scold my mongrel mix of cutlery mutts.
...

Naturally, I needed to chortle when I read about your novel treatment of your knives, Stuart! :p:thumbsup::cool: Do they actually respond well to that sort of constructive criticism??

...
All four are fine, GT. Great choices for the day.
...
- Stuart
...
Great foursome Gary; I think your have the coolest selection of Sowbellies and Canoes I have seen!:cool::thumbsup:
...
Another nice selection of knives, Gary.;):thumbsup:
Gary,
That's 4 that I would like in my pocket.
...
Top quality quartet GT :)
...
That Uncle Henry stockman is a good looking knife, Gary! :D Budget and Premium Canoes are lookers as well.
Stuart, JJ, José, Chuck, Jack, and Dean: I'm grateful for your numerous nurturing comments about my knives. :)

Today with another Case mini trapper in stag.;)
...
Nice buttery stag on that mini trapper makes it a noticeable knife, José!

Good Morning Everybody
...
That duo is so NOW, John!:cool::thumbsup:

Good morning, All.

Northwoods Sowbelly, SAK Electrician
Good morning gentlemen
Beautiful spring day here, 76 an sunny.
Perfect day for a walk with the dog along the river.
Got my farmer to cut/saw fetching sticks for the dog, an an OT for a little whittling, and prepare our snack. Dog likes apples as much as I do.

Noteworthy Alox carries, guys!:cool::thumbsup: I can never decide on my favorite Alox: Electrician or Farmer. (Although if the scissors on a Pioneer X work well when I eventually get one of those, I think I'll be dealing with a 3-way tie.)
Mike if a pocket knife can be nubile, I think that's what the Northwoods sowbelly stockman is! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Remington and a new to me Queen today.
...
Congrats on the numinous Queen, Steve! You're a never-ending source of noble bone!:cool::cool:

...
So... I didn't get to meet up with my Dad this past Christmas, so I said I would mail him his gift. Well I kept forgetting and recently talking to him in texts I said I would finally mail it,and I texted a pic. Well he responded with, "I got enough knives, you got a birthday this month (29th) so happy birthday" I should have figured it though, he carried the same Vic huntsman from 1988 until just 3-4 years ago. He has several pocket knives, maybe a dozen but he's one of those guys that carries one till it wears out.
Congrats on the new knife for your nativity, David!:thumbsup::cool: You're really turning only 29 this month??

That’s a lotta pins! Makes for rather striking look.

After a couple weeks of the Dunlap stockman, including serving all weekend at our churches yearly family festival (south louisiana family festival) to benefit our men’s and women’s rehabilitation homes, I decided today was time for a small shift of gears while recovering. We’ll go to church this evening.

This showed up at our car show. Never seen one in person. Pretty impressive, to say the least.
