The 54 would not normally have been my 1st choice since I have a Camillus #1, but it’s what I had on me yesterday when we decided to propagate some elderberry bushes ~ cut the twig just below a bud, stick it in the ground, and you’ll have another bush. It performed admirably, so it earned it’s place in my pocket again today.

Walden 8ot and an 8oty.

I got the walden in yesterday. The blades are pretty good and its tight and snaps just fine. Great user. The strange thing though is that it smelled terrible, and I mean terrible. I went through several cycles of soap and water, tried windex with ammonia, soaked it in wd40 and then set it next to an air freshener all night. It's better now but still a little smelly, so my work isn't quite done but I wanted to carry it. o_O

Thanks buddy, I'm going to make some leek and potato soup later, not really associated with St Patrick's Day, but virtually every other pub in Ireland seems to sell it! :D
My son is making leek and potato soup too, and my wife is making corned beef (an Irish American tradition, I think). Not sure if we can go to my son's a planned--my wife woke up with a stuffy nose. :( But I did pick up some Guinness. :)

That’s a very fine Laguiole you have from Fontenille Pataud, they make some beautiful knives, like works of art .

Love that wood on the Fontenille-Pataud.

Thanks guys. Went with ironwood for the covers. Arrived yesterday, and I'm having a hard time putting it down. I thought the Forge de Laguiole I have was nice, but this is on a whole other level. Also really liking the 10.5cm size. Funny how the blade looks longer than the handle!

Sorry to hear about your wife Vince, hope it's just a sniffle, and she's feeling right again soon  It's a shame you can't go to your son's, but I'm sure the corned beef and Guiness will be a real treat, you got cabbage too? :)
