What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Even though turkey season is right around the corner, I've got rabbit and squirrel guns to clean and put away. And gear. This Weidmannsheil jack has helpful features: a corkscrew and shell pullers, in both 12 and 16 gauges, for guns without extractors or ejectors.

WOW !!!! And it is even a useful tool !!!! :):):):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Always like seeing your AGR ‘nut!

Your 85 is a beaut.
I took a chance yesterday, and made my first planting of kale in a couple of my raised beds. We usually hold off most planting until around Mother’s Day, but
kale is really cold tolerant, so we’ll see. And of course, we had a good hard frost last night!
If I have to, I will just replant. But if it works out, I’ll have fresh greens earlier than usual. I think that might be welcome this year.
Just a little over 100 years ago, and again in the 40’s, everyone had a Victory Garden. This year, our home gardens just might play a similar role. I, for one, am expanding my beds again. And before all this started, I became partners in an organic market farm.

Why be a grass farmer when you can grow food?
I wish you all the best with your Gardens Jeff !

May your crops be fruitful!! I will be doing the same!

I think that it is great that you are using that , IMO , great knife . I will make you you the same deal that I made Half/Stop Half/Stop for one of his nice Stags. An old Colonial Barlow straight up for it any time . I used to use mine like you do , then I decided to get other and older knives dirty . I have not seen any Northfield 73 in Stag that I did not like . They are my idea of what a knife should look like . Thanks for showing it my friend .

Harry
Thanks for the offer Harry, but I can't give up this once in a lifetime #73.

Two venerable veterans Dylan, both really nice

Thank you, Jack! A splendid trio you are sporting today!

Oh, a bone-handled "skinny tree" Boker! Nice!
:cool::thumbsup:
I think I'll carry a 100 year old knife today. One that survived the last great epidemic.

Thank you, r8shell! I love that old Jack, what a fine knife!

I'm carrying two of my favorite stags today! My EDC #35 Churchill Sambar and my @Jack Black SFO Hartshead Barlow SFO. :) On a different note we had our first reported case of COVID-19 in my county yesterday! :( It's getting closer and scarier by the day! I pray we will all get through this so our lives can get back to normal!

My first recollection of Kenny Rodgers was psychedelic. Growing up I really liked this one! He turned out to be one of my favorite country performers. RIP Kenny!

Ron, what a tremendous pair! That Stag on both is exquisite, particularly on that Hartshead.

Today with Parker Cut.Co. Little Eagle, Stag handles and surgical steel.;)

That is quite an interesting knife, my friend. I like it! Some very nice Stag on it too!

Carrying these today as I wait for the U.S.MAIL : GEC 35's Stag and Pickle

The Mailman should be bringing an addition for this picture . A better one of the top one in the picture which has a broken Main Blade .

In the picture is : 1 & 2 are Original Russels /// 3 is the 1975 Schrade Commemorative /// 4 & 5 are the Colonial repro . models . Not sure of the year on them .
While I am typing this there is a squirrel in the same position as one was the other day .

It does not take much to amuse me anymore.

Harry

Harry, those are a couple of enviable Churchills, both just exceptional.

A new one:

Gorgeous, I think. Will be toting often!

Merci, Â!

Vince, what a special gift and an amazing knife, I look forward to seeing more of it.

I have an unlikely pair with me today.

That is a gorgeous knife Stuart, super cool

Lovely old knife !

Thanks, guys. Now that our local is closed, I invited four of my regular Friday crew over to my house for some "socially distanced cigar smoking/bourbon drinking" on the deck yesterday. After four hours, somehow no pics? Today, I asked the other three over for "daytime wine drinking" on the deck, also properly spaced around the table. Oddly, no pics (?), but the Weidmannsheil pulled four corks with aplomb. Hope to more fully post tomorrow. I was able to find post-wine resuscitation this afternoon.

Thank you JJ. Both your Stag Hunter and the image are magnificent. Boy...Those Stag covers.!

@Jack Black - Thank you Jack. a Double Lambsfoot Day is like balm during these uncertain times. Nice to see the Ironwood LF.

@Amir Fleschwund - Thank you kindly, Jeff. Victory Gardens is a great idea. May your thumbs be green and your harvest be plentiful. Excellent image, offering the viewer a fine look at those pair of Aces.

@CelloDan - Superb outdoor image of your Ebony LF, Dan.

@Prester John - What a beautiful gifted knife, Vince.

D Duckdog - What a cool looking Jack, Stuart.

Many thanks JJ, that's some stunning stag for Saturday :)

Hope everyone is safe and well, and that you're finding something to do this weekend :) With the pubs, restaurants, cinemas, and museums closed here, the transport system grinding to a halt, and 'self-isolation' the order of the day - and I gave up booze and cake for Lent! - it's going to be dull here, but The Porch is still here, and I'm having a Double Lambsfoot Day, (with a Gnome on the side) :)
