Extremely nice balance to that knife, complete harmonyLooks like it works well in the hand too.
Like the picture, is that an old fruit tree, apple, plum?
Regards, Will
Talk about goodness ! Sweet pair...take me to the riverAs you can see these two have been babied, oh I carry each from time to time but neither has seen any action other than a string cut or two.
Eventually I'll start putting them to work, maybe.

Many thanks GaryFour really nice knives there, I just remembered that I have that same RR Sowbelly, a gift from @Humppa long ago,...
Thanks again buddyA friend of mine knows John Le Carre. I just remembered I did actually read that book, but it was a very long time ago - I saw the film more recently
I'm kind of enjoying some of my fixed-blades. You know, a few decades back FBs were probably 90% of knife collecting. I used to have a lot more than I have now, as I have given a lot away, but I still have a fair few
When I was a kid, I was never without a sheath knife on my belt, but the law here now, it kind of stinks - not illegal to carry, but don't get caught with one

...
I forgot about this small one I have, made by MAM in Portugal, I actually carry it a fair bit it in the summer. It comes with a wee bottle opener. The idea is you open your beer, and cut and eat your hot dog or wurst of choice![]()

Thanks, Jack. I like the Rough Rider sowbellies, and I like RR smooth tobacco bone, so that knife was an obvious selection for me!...
Apologies for my late posting, and minimal presence today, hurt my back this morningBefore that, all was going well, and I had just sorted out my carry for the day. ...
Astounding jigging, Wayne!!
Thanks, Dylan....
Thank you so much, GT! I love that little Case Canoe you are sporting.
...
This 44 is with me today - I don't carry it enough, it really is a pretty perfect knife.
...
Thanks for the encouragement, Harvey, and for the "living end" link....
Thank you GT. Your Sowbelly is not only beautiful, but your image is Magnifico!

Thanks, JJ....
A couple Sowbellies and canoes makes for an outstanding foursome; very nice artwork to go with your lovely Case, too!
...
Thank you, Gary. For me it's also intriguing because I don't know its origin, as for the stag I love it too.![]()
Thanks for your kind comment, José.I admire that knife, Gary.![]()
The covers on your Curel are outstanding!Today in my pocket.
...
Dignified and elegant, Mike!!
You're welcome, Dean; dazzling daily duo again!
Thanks for your (and Calvin's) thoughts on the matter, Joshua!I’m no theologian, and I wouldn’t try to make a proof from that Numbers passage, but I’m with Calvin who says somewhere in the Institutes that any activity not specifically indexed to one of the Persons (e.g. Incarnation) is attributable to all of the Person together.
Stunning knife, LT!View attachment 1323298 View attachment 1323297 View attachment 1323302 View attachment 1323300
From the hands of the master.
That stag pen knife is breathtaking!Went with these two today, rosewood & stag.View attachment 1323490
You've been modified into a modding maniac, Joshua!...
Just finished this modification of a GEC 21 Bull Buster. I enjoyed doing it, and I think I prefer the 74ish handle shape and spear point. I definitely prefer the slimmer handles.
Surpassing scouts, JJ!I feel "prepared" for Friday with these 2 black composite covered Camillus scouts.
...
If the shoe fits......
Shenanigans!!!What are you talking about Gary?
I did learn early on from one of the best! Bob, aka "BigBiscuit" was a master at the art of surprise!

Terrific trio for Black Friday, Ron!!Good Friday morning! My trio is from the Dark Side today and is a mixed bag.I've paired two of these before so forgive the recycled photo. First up is a Tidioute #79 Workhorse Whittler in Ebony. It's teaming up with my 2018 Ebony Guardians Lambsfoot, an SFO from @Jack Black.
I've also got my Vic Black Alox Pioneer close by. You can't never tell when my screws might get loose!
Y'all stay safe and well out there!

That's a dilemma, Alan. I used to treat my knives with sentimental value that way, but then decided the joy of carrying/using them would be greater than the sorrow of losing the knife, but still having the memory. Kind of a Que sera sera philosophy. Thanks Gary. That one in particular I find to be just the right size. However it’s such a rare bird that I only carry it where I know there is no chance of misplacing it.
Rough Rider does stag bone much better now than they did 5 years ago. And they've used stag bone on quite a few patterns, but I don't know how many patterns use this top-flight stag bone that's on my little cotton sampler....
Probably the best handles they have done.
Seems a shame they never ran it with a different blade.
I scratch my head sometimes when I see their design choices.
That Robeson is ravishing, Harvey!TEW Lamb Foot and pen blade with a tiny pry bar, opener, bit holder, nail puller.

Robeson EO Black Jack. It’s the Bomb.
View attachment 1323240
Really like that Robeson, Jeff; tough for me to pick my favorite between Harvey's shieldless 1-blade(?) barehead and your 2-blade, end-capped model with the cool shield!View attachment 1323569 My biggest, fattest Wenger, and one of Mr Robeson’s creations.View attachment 1323570 The Wenger Handyman is always on me.
Just like our viral pestilence, this snow, too, shall pass. Some of my hardier garden plants are shrugging it off.
Hope you all stay safe, and if you can’t stay in, stay clean!![]()
You sure have a way of finding the best bone, Steve!SW 879 and a PAL Jack today

I’m loving it so far, GT. All of us here really should be getting commission for all the sales we’re making!
True fact about berries and birds, I guess. You could say that about any kind of berry.
Pretty good haul today:

Thanks for the background info, Harvey....
An antique stereoscope.
Thank you kindly, GT. Your peanut cotton sampler is the cat’s meow. You and I are both Senator fans.
...
That is an eclectic ensemble of traditional knives, Gary! Each one is top drawer.
...
Thanks, Dean.
Even though you can't crack the Case, Stuart, that pair makes you a winner!Trying to keep up with this thread is exhausting, but exciting (except for the exhausting part). I toted some odd friends today - Mutt & Jeff. A Case Muskrat (1976) and a Case 33 pattern small premium pen (1970):

That's an E/O notch, not a crack.
- Stuart
Thanks, JJ.Thanks a lot Gary!!! That certainly sounds like a very fun project; I can't wait to see the finished piece with any design you choose!
Beautiful covers on your trio today; the stag on your lamb is my favorite, but only by a ram's whisker!![]()
Superb pair, JJ; I really admire that C. Johnson Barlow!A Barlow from Britain and a US Scout for today.
...
That might be my favorite of your Portuguese knives, José!
Lovely lamb, Harvey. Is that cap from a Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale? Chocolate Stout?J. Potter shadow pen, Sheffield.

Thanks, Dean.Your brace of bone-covered knives are spectacular!
(I still want to try "scratting" a wood-clad knife sometime - maybe this summer.)

I need to watch Send Me No Flowers again. That's a dilemma, Alan. I used to treat my knives with sentimental value that way, but then decided the joy of carrying/using them would be greater than the sorrow of losing the knife, but still having the memory. Kind of a Que sera sera philosophy.

Overkill?Dwight, I've never tried to clean a knife with battery acid, but it does have a dramatic effect. A "Study in Blue"
Which civil war battlefield did you recover that from?
Ain't it so Jeff.Battery acid/Civil War relic.... it looks to me like it sat in a box somewhere, mice nested in the box, gnawed the bone for the minerals, and their urine caused the corrosion. That looks like the starter on a lawn tractor I had after mice nested under the hood. I hate mice.
So what are the details, Dwight? Any snap or walk ‘n talk left in it? Can you make it usable?
Patinus Maximus.
Edit: I really miss our huge local flea market. This poor old Barlow reminds me of the treasures to be had there.
Hello Don! Good to hear from you my friend.Hello Dwight!
Long time no see. I hope all's well. I've missed your presence. Welcome back!
You are right for sure Jeff!Dwight, looks like some critter was chewing on the handles at some point in it’s life
Some awfully cool stag your totin with those fine Case knives today!![]()
I remember that now Stuart! The stag on the Big Jack is still bodacious!
