What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I allowed myself the ostentation of mowing the lawn with my new facon (I think; pretty safe to say faca, which seems to be generic) stuck in the back of my belt.

Pretty cool Jer !
Growing up in Argentina the gaucho and his facon were themes and icons that were very familiar to us as part of our history.
I remember reading Martín Fierro as a child and being fascinated by the poem's descriptions of the knife fights that gauchos would at times engage in.

Nanc and I along with our two boys said goodbye to our Babygirl today, aka Harley. She was 10 years young, she was also the runt of the litter and fought for everything she got. She was as sweet and kind as could be but you'd swear there was a Doberman in our house if you heard her bark:eek: she was fiercely protective. About ten days ago symptoms started to show, loss of appetite, tired and lethargic which is everything she wasn't. We doctored with the Vet over that time and simply put her immune system was shutting down. During the last ten days she never even uttered a simple cry. She was in the game until the very end. The hole in our hearts is offset with a lifetime of wonderful memories:thumbsup: She truly was our Babygirl:)

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm part Welsh, and there are Welshmen in Patagonia, which is part of the draw for me.

I hope it's made of a better steel than this...

Yikes!

I've turned some wrenches Stuart, but never while wearing a mask! :D

There's be time for you to do some work on it without a mask, but maybe safety glasses.

New to me Camillus #10 Barlow, I've been looking for one for years . :)

Worth the wait, friend. Fine find!

Very classy classic Cases, JJ.

Lovely, Gev.

What a punch in the gut, Paul. There is no more honest, unquestioning love than that we get from a dog. I've had many, hunters and house hounds, and their leaving shreds your heart. The wonderful memories are sad tissues for your tears. And, then, you get another one and life gets right because you get unbridled love, again.

Camillus 17 and 70 today

Thank you JJ. Your Bullmoose is so nice. Didn’t appreciate this pattern until I saw your fine example, image. Man...Even your working Bullnose is claasy.

From 2 days back. Challenge Cutlery whittler and my savage beast of a camp cleaver sneakin his nose in there. Found a super awesome deer skull and learned we have orchids here in southern ohio hiding in the woods. Seen these on only a few occasions my whole life and just now decided to look em up. Called 'Showy Orchids'.

That deer skull is really nice. Big deer, someone is salty about losing that one last year. The Cleaver is a bit close to the line for being in a pic by itself here in the traditional forum tho, so just imagine it.

Al, I’ve never held one of the GEC Bull Moose pocketknives, but it sure looks like it is patterned on the Case 6275 which is a great pattern. Nice Knife! OH
Yes it is like the 6275 but it doesn’t have a Spey blade. The pull is about a 5 but I find it is perfect with this knife. I have almost all the covers and rotate through them all the time. I usually pair it with a bull nose

Thank you again, Jack. I hope you’re feeling better. With that fine trio, you have a knife for every purpose.

Thank you Harvey, that's very kind of you :)

Tell me about it Jack! I’m retired and very thankful, but I’ve still got a lot of work to accomplish around our home! Lol! I weighed last night after I took my shower and I’m down 12 lbs since the start of this Covid crap. I think it’s a combination of the extra work I’ve been doing and the fact that we’re actually eating a lot healthier by cooking at home. We got a fast food burger and fries for lunch today. We were out to pick up some building supplies so we actually went through the drive thru. The first time in a couple of months! :D

No rest for the weary mate ;) Sounds like you're thriving Ron! :D

Taking a break from the midday sun. I thought I’d take time to show y’all my carry for today. Y’all stay safe out there! :)

Thank you very much my friend, it's appreciated :)

Thought I'd go with stag for today. :)

Gorgeous! :)

Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend, and that you have a relaxing and peaceful Sunday :) Rather dull here today, but I have penty to do indoors, and my pal is coming round with his eldest lad later, so I can give him his birthday presents in the garden (he can unwrap them while me and his dad have a beer ;) ) Going fancy today, my Jack Black Knives U1 (serial number 001 of course), Charlie @waynorth 's Black Jack, and one of my SFO Lambsfoot Damascus folders with Desert Ironwood covers :)
