Gorgeous! :)

Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend, and that you have a relaxing and peaceful Sunday :) Rather dull here today, but I have penty to do indoors, and my pal is coming round with his eldest lad later, so I can give him his birthday presents in the garden (he can unwrap them while me and his dad have a beer ;) ) Going fancy today, my Jack Black Knives U1 (serial number 001 of course), Charlie @waynorth 's Black Jack, and one of my SFO Lambsfoot Damascus folders with Desert Ironwood covers :)

Wow, speaking of excellent images you really take the cake today; your J. Rodgers is a superb specimen of cutlery at its finest, as well!;):D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes sir, it's very clean in design. A solid performer nonetheless, with a very satisfying and trust invoking snap. The swedge is very nicely done too. It makes the spearpoint blade a lot less dull to look at compared to a SAK.

Spears are never dull :D It's just that some are cooler than others, like in life ;)

Nanc and I along with our two boys said goodbye to our Babygirl today, aka Harley. She was 10 years young, she was also the runt of the litter and fought for everything she got. She was as sweet and kind as could be but you'd swear there was a Doberman in our house if you heard her bark:eek: she was fiercely protective. About ten days ago symptoms started to show, loss of appetite, tired and lethargic which is everything she wasn't. We doctored with the Vet over that time and simply put her immune system was shutting down. During the last ten days she never even uttered a simple cry. She was in the game until the very end. The hole in our hearts is offset with a lifetime of wonderful memories:thumbsup: She truly was our Babygirl:)

I just now saw this, Paul. I’m so sorry to hear about Harley! :( She was a beautiful pup. I’ll be thinking about you and your family.

It’s a bit early, so I’m not carrying anything at the moment, but I’m going to drop this Burlap Micarta Bull Nose in my pocket today (a generous gift from Paul).

So cool to have a knife with your own branding. Looks like a hard worker too.:thumbsup:

Thanks John, a flat-ground Shadow-pattern drop-point is pretty run of the mill these days, but in the early 90's, it was considered so radical I had to set up my own company to make my range of knives  The U1 took up a couple of years of my life, much of which was taken up by developing the HT. It got massive publicity at the time here in England, but the Sheffield cutlers s£457@d me, as is their way  It is certainly a tough knife, one reviewer I sent a test model to seemed intent on destroying it! After dressing out, skinning, and butchering a couple of deer, he set about bashing it through 'substantial baulks of very hard wood, against the grain', with a mallet, then opened some cans with it, and since it was still sharp, he then hammered it through the bottom of an old galvanised iron bucket, continuing to bash it until he had cut a circular piece of iron out of the bottom  He dulled the mirror polish in a couple of places, but it was otherwise totally unscathed, and I had it re-polished and sent him the knife back
