What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very interesting Radiant Ron, 'Pit' is the Yorkshire word for a coal-mine, and the belts are conveyor belts. Knives were carried for use in emergencies, if someone got caught in the belt, and presumably when they needed to be replaced. Some discussion about them here

Very late posting today, as I have been out all day, including a visit to my local flea-market :) My Hartshead Barlow together with a few of my pick-ups today

Thanks Jack! The Radiant was too interesting to pass at the price. With the exception of the blade being a little rough it’s really a solid old knife. The handles and the bail are what sold me! Thanks for the link, I read the whole thread! Looks like you got a few interesting ones today yourself my friend! :)

For me , today is Two TEWs Thursday . I sometimes like to carry these 2 old Eye Witness Lambfoot together . Would really like to know where all they have been in their life . I just know that I have had them for a very few years of their time . The very worn one sure looks to me like someone really liked and carried it an awful lot . I know that I feel the same way about the other one . Please pardon the re-cycled photos .

I’ll never get tired of seeing those beautiful old TEWs Harry! :)

Thanks Ron !!! Maybe I like Old Knives because they are older than me ?????
I did not really think that your Radiant's blade was rough . It was used and can be sharpened and it will be Good To Go . It is a Gem for sure .

That is very interesting Rachel, thanks for the link

They were! :D There were a whole load of small penknives, and Richards knives, as well as a few more jacks and sportsman's knives, but they were overpriced, and I thought I'd spent enough today ;)

Nice pairing Tom :)

Thanks John, that Pruner is by Richartz of Solingen :) Interestingly, while it has their 'Whale' mark on the tang, it does not have the name of the company, nor the country of origin. Like a lot of German knives, made in the early to mid 20th century, it is simply marked 'Foreign'.

Classy pair Gary

Thanks Jack, much appreciated! Nice haul you have there, looks like you found some treasures

You really put together great tote'n rifle combos Stuart; beautiful fixed blade with your fun'n handy Ruger!;):thumbsup:

Thanks, JJ, but they would look a whole lot better with some of your knives thrown in AND you shot the pictures.

Nicely done, Jeff.

I've got these two today. A Venture H.M. Slater Lambsfoot and a Tidioute #48. Y'all have a nice day! :)

Lovely lambsfoot, Ron. You've posted some fine new finds recently.

That's a comforting classic, John. Thanks for sharing it.

Another handsome pair, Steve.

Well done, sir!!

Fine crop and an excellent picture, r8shell.

Whew!!!

Intriguing knife, Harvey, and very expressive pictures.

Premium Canoe of the Week is a brown jigged bone Buck (thanks, Clay)

Sowbelly Stockman of the Week is a Case chestnut jigged bone with CV blades (thanks, Ron)

Both Cases are good choices, GT, and the sowbelly looks particularly choice.

That's a beauty, LT.

This little Queen #42 pen (1976) was about all that I felt like totin' today - another hot and humid one outside.
