What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Inspired by Lutejones' recent addition, I'm carrying my own spear-bladed #25:

Some nice sunshine today allowed me a new pic of my current EDC's patina from apples, pears, peaches and pickles.

Trying to break in this Stag Sowbelly skinner Bret made for me... Just had to dive in and start using it! Wasn't easy at

Thanks, guys. John deserves all the credit for that one...I was very pleasantly surprised by how much the knife resonated with my personal taste for pattern, steel and blade selection. The covers are some of the nicest dyed stag I've seen.

John's knives are like that.

#6 arrived today:

After seeing Elliott's awesome gunstock at lunch time today I couldn't wait to get home and drop this one in my pocket:

I love this knife, I'd have to say it's my all time favorite.

Cheers,
Griff

Beautiful color on those covers, Griff. I'll shoot you a PM with an image of another gunstock you might like so as not to take the thread off topic ;)

Elliott, why not start a new thread?:D
Griff I got one of them myself. Real nice.

If you do a search on "gunstock" threads you'll find that there already is one that has many fine examples...including the one I PM'd Griff about. ;)

Well, it's only a tad over your requirement and it carries pretty small. Might be worth contacting John and seeing if he could scale it down some for you. I don't think you'd regret it.

I would not change a thing, that knife could put a end to the affliction.

Well we can't have that, Pete!

:p

As for my carry today...it's back to the beginning with the first knife I ever commissioned Ken Erickson to build for me.

It's a 4 1/8" "Pocket Hunter" modeled on the frame of the classic 5 1/4" hunters with a secondary blade of my choosing and Ken's jigged bone. Steel is D2.
