When I changed clothes to do yard work, and stopped to grab a knife on the way out I realized that I have recently sold all my stainless steel bladed Case knives (including the navy blue bone mini copperhead in the picture below). I prefer stainless for this work, because I will be soaked through with sweat by the time I am done.

So, I grabbed my Vic Gardener. I am sitting here on the screened porch for a mid-job hydration break. Pulling the Vic out, it is indeed covered in perspiration.

I should carry this one more often. The nylon handles make for a very light knife, and I really like the blade shape and size.

A vintage "Empire" jack with ebony covers for me today---just finished some outdoor work and beat the forecasted COLD weather that should arrive overnight:thumbup:

Thanks Gevonovich, it is 3 9/16 closed.

This one is kind of special to me other than it's just a great vintage knife. We used to own a family furniture store for over 40 years in our town of population 6,000:thumbup:
and it was named "Empire Home Furnishing" so for that reason alone is why I like it so much:p

My new Opinel No. 7 and my Leatherman PST1... I am so impressed with the simple elegance of the Opinel which is a design that has stood the test of time and the PST is what made Leatherman famous.

So many awesome knives... <drool>

Finally the postman came with my prize for the end of October, the BF Traditional Forum trapper. It has gone right into my pocket for Scouts tonight so photos will have to wait!
