What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wooden Wednesday.

Beautiful AC, Harvey! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Should I be worried that your "alphabet soup" is meaningful to me? ;)

Another day with my Tribal Lock.

What a blue stunner, Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That was an impressive post, how long did it take you to put that all together?
...
Blimey Gary, you must have spent all day on that post! Maybe, it is certainly a good-looking knife my friend :) I definitely need to get that one out!

You be careful buddy, we wouldn't want you having to take your shoes and socks off in class! :p :D ;)
...
I did a couple of searches of the thread to find posts that referred to me (either "GT" or "5K Qs") and then read them all and quoted all the relevant ones. That probably took an hour one night before bedtime. The next day I inserted all those quotes into a new post and reordered them so I had all the quotes from each person in a group, and listed alphabetically by username. That probably took another hour including a brief comment from me for each person.

Thanks for your replies, Jack; I want to keep all my fingers at least as much as you want me to, I'd wager! ;)

3 fine Carrie's there.
I'm not a trapper fan but the color on that bone there sure is striking.
That mini trapper reminds me of the peppers my neighbor grows in his front yard.
That's Case's chestnut jigged bone. I really like it, but I've been quite surprised by how much it varies from knife to knife. Here's an example from some of the earliest chestnut jigged CV Case knives I obtained:

I toted the #48 as a pipe knife today and it was more than adequate (gutting hook as tamper).

Pretty cool GEC pipe knife, Stuart!:cool::thumbsup:

Fine trio Gary !
...
Thanks, Steve. :)

...
You are most certainly welcome Gary; very cool Colonial wire frame in your "cutlery quiver" today!;):thumbsup:
...
Thanks, JJ. :)
Your pair of Heritage Schrades are outstanding!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Three nice ones there Gary, I've always admired that Colonial :)

Thanks for the Colonial comment, Jack. :)
Desirable duo that you posted!:cool::cool:

Today with Case Mini Trapper in stag, of the year 1992.;)
...
Superb stag mini trapper, José!:thumbsup::cool:

Fantastic Farmer! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Do you have any interest in the Farmer X with scissors added?

I don’t spey, but as they say, The Day Is Young, but I also like the spey blades on my trappers and stockmen.
Nice triple shot today, Gary!
...
A tantalizing trio today, Gary! Especially, the CV mini trapper.
Thanks, Jeff and Dean. :)
You gents are both sporting some elegant elk covers!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's a double Keen Kutter day.

That's a pair with pleasingly polished bone, Rachel!:cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on your new ebony gunstock, Harvey!:cool::cool:

Threw this in my pocket when I went on a bike ride this afternoon:
0uZo8iv.jpg

Only about three inches closed, very lightweight--like it isn't even there!
Found for about $12 at a feed store in a small town.
Is that a Case mini Blackhorn, Vince? I have one that I think is a fine little lockback!:thumbsup::cool:

A couple of 1930s Robeson totes that are easy in the pocket. :)
Pair of aces, JJ! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Simplicity Sunday for me today, it's a hot sunny day 26c and at this time of year it never really get's dark either, just a twilight between 1 am and 4am:cool: Single spring disappears in the pocket and I value the small Pruner blade-show it a clamshell and the package expires:D

Your Pioneer Pruner has panache, Will!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Third day in a row of a set-in coastal rain storm - just sitting and churning. More indoor projects, going to carry a stainless steel ALOX today. OH

Excellent Electrician, Bruce! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I have purchased plane tickets to visit PA the week of the Rendezvous. I was born about 20 miles from the GEC factory in Oil City. If GEC cannot do the Rendezvous I'm still coming and wish to invite any others that may want to show up. We could meet in a park to trade and sell perhaps. Super HOT in Texas in August so the get away is on. Any takers? Fishing, hiking, bike riding, many creeks, Allegheny River, Drake Well, ........so much to do in the area. Any takers?

Is that a Case mini Blackhorn, Vince? I have one that I think is a fine little lockback!:thumbsup::cool:
No, Gary, the mini Blackhorn is 1/8 inch longer and has a long pull instead of a nail nick. It's just called a "lockback" in the Case catalogue. I think mine is a copy of a Gerber lockback I used to own. Got it for $12 at a feed store. Great little knives. Only carry now for trips to the beach or on a bike ride, though.

Just got this today and already dropped it on the floor! I hate that.
I know from my Roger's jigged blue bone one that it's a good carry knife, so this new Tribal Lock is going to spend a couple days with me.

the wear has to start sometime :D

Gotta love the Crosman CPHP, probably 20 or more of my 30+ airguns love them.
Granted a few only fire BB's and Crosman doesn't make CPHP's in .20 caliber , but everything I have in .177 or .22 loves them. ( the majority of my guns are Crosman manufactured which probably doesn't hurt either)

I'm totin' this one solely for Wooden Wednesday, as there is no "relaxed" way to tote it any other time that you aren't always aware that a blade is at least semi-exposed.

Still, it's fun to take this Ft. Stockton, TX knife to the local hardware store and scare/surprise the young clerks,

Went out this morning and harvested our first Hybrid Tea roses of the year . One Double Delight and 3 Mr. Lincolns , for @meako to admire too . Both varieties are very Fragrant .

Had the Lambfoot and the Northfield 73 in my pockets .

During the day , while we were splitting some Hasta , Nancy borrowed the Lambfoot and when she was done she put it into her pocket . I finally had to ask for it back . She became a Convert awfully quick .
And of course , the Stag was carried in a slip .
Half/Stop Half/Stop Ron I guess you were right . With a Northfield 73 and a Lambfoot , I do not need any other knife . But I will probably get a few more just in case .

Stuart it sounds like a very interesting and beneficial outing! I hope you are able to go. Y’all will have a great time. I remember those two beautiful Miller Brothers budding knives. They were sharp! :)

My heartfelt thanks to all y'all.

Those are just just gorgeous.

Great gunstock, Jack.

The Radiant is, well, radiant, Ron.

Brilliant, Harvey - just brilliant.

Steve, you consistently post these great pictures of excellent old knives. Some of them make me misty-eyed at their history; all make me happy in their handsome condition in your care. Thank you, pal.

Been awhile! Some really nice blades on here lately so wanted to share. I couldn’t decide between these two so just carried them both.View attachment 1360909

I’ve always thought Mr Lincoln is THE classic rose, but Vickie is quite enamored of your Double Delight. Nice work!
But of all the days not to be using your new/old stag hawkbill. :(

Slide into this:

Ah, one of the greats. RIP, Johnny.
You know whose CD I plugged in while driving today?
