That’s one of Great Eastern Cutlery’s finest achievements Paul! I’ve got three of Charlie’s and two of Lyle’s and they are some of my most treasured knives! Stay well my friend! :)

Today was July 22nd, which means I was carrying Eleanor’s Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose.

I had this knife with me when she was born four years ago (she was very punctual, and showed up right on her due date).

Now I carry it on her birthday every year (and any other day Eleanor has something special going on).

I’ve also made it a tradition to take a photo of Eleanor holding her knife on her birthday, which I enjoy getting to share with y’all. Here she is on her first birthday:

And her second (which was her least cooperative birthday when it came to having her photo taken with her knife :D):

This was on her third birthday last year:

And here she is holding her knife today:

This year’s birthday was a pretty low key affair with everything going on, but we still had a great day.
Absolutely priceless photos Barrett! Such a beautiful young lady! We’ve got a saying around here, “Growing like a weed!” I think it’s quite fitting here! :D

These two for me today.

I could just see one of those Vipers in my photos Dylan! ;) :D

A very Happy Birthday to Eleanor Barrett :) Great pics, she is really growing up :) Congratulations to all the family :)

Hope you had a nice time with your granddaughter Vince, one of my kids is called Eleanor too :)

Morning folks, carrying my Hartshead Barlow today, and an Okapi Biltong Knife kindly gifted to me by r8shell r8shell :)

Love the cake Jack! :D Two great choices for today my friend! I’ve never held one of the Okapi knives. They appear to be sturdily built! :)

We have a saying here, " if it's not removed by wiping it, then it's a tick". If you still have the red spot after two or three days then better is to ask for the advice of a doctor. I don't want to fear you, i just speak from experience.

Dan.
Thanks. I appreciate your concern. I've got cousins who've had terrible experiences with Lyme's, and I'll watch it. Heck, I'll e-mail my doctor so she can have me tested at the earliest opportunity.
I still have this in my pocket, too:

Taking a day to remember the families that are fighting with COVID. This respiratory disease steals the breath and hope from people. Any of you who have walked alongside someone who’s had a bad case knows how vicious this thing can be. Praying for hope, healing and restored breath!View attachment 1383115
Funny, I was just admiring your picture and now it's gone.
I admire the knife.
[Now it's back. Very nice.]

Decided to switch it up a tiny bit today.
(BTI) Old Timer 858OTB stockman
Since the (BTI) Old Timer 23OT Scout/Camp knife ... ummm ... "misplaced" ... one of the bail rivets, I put the Marbles MR278 "GI Utility Knife"/"Demo Knife" back on the lanyard and into my pocket.
I might swap out the (BTI) Old Timer 25OT two blade slipjoint folding hunter tomorrow, (Friday) for my Marbles MR417 two blade slipjoint folding hunter. I haven't decided yet.

Happy TGIF Eve

I’ve scrolled back for several long looks. What a nice pair of knives!

Very nice.
Harry let me examine his Orchard Gem a couple of years ago. And I’ve casually looked online at them ever since. There is a mint Schrade Cut Co farmer’s jack listed on a certain unspecified auction site with a buy-it-now price of well over a grand.

I confess I’d be afraid to use one of those in the role for which they were designed, at first. Then, I would work the heck out of it, come home and clean, oil, and hone it, and do it again tomorrow.:D
At our little organic farm, I am tending to a couple hundred tomato plants, each of which gets pruned (suckers, which want to form another main leader, and lower leaf branches) and trained onto vertical lines at least twice a week. Tomatoes put out a sticky protective substance that leaves my fingertips and knife blade coated. And it’s hard to get off. I use this, which is almost identical in function to yours albeit a tiny bit less valuable.View attachment 1383130BUT! Being the heathen that I am, I would not hesitate to use that in my day to day.
Hope you have a great day, Paul!

Thanks. It's growing on me; I had some psychological issues with it for a while.

Publisher's Clearing House! It's free, and online you don't have to paw through a lot of flyers to find stickers.

I used the small blade yesterday to scrape off a tiny biting bug that wouldn't brush off. I hope it was a tiny fly and not a tick. It would have been a long climb for a tick to get to the outside of my wrist. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for the circular rash that apparently only sometimes appears with Lyme's disease.

LOL! :D That sounds tick-like Jer  I noticed something had bitten me just above the sock, keeping an eye on it

It's growing on me, Jack.
Your Heartshead is looking good and that Okapi Biltong Knife looks interesting. I've never handled one. Good on r8shell.

That's good Gary :) Thank you my friend, the Okapi was a very thoughtful gift, just the sort of knife that fascinates me :)

Jack yes that is a Violon (Violin) knife that I won in @lambertiana 20 years on BF GAW.

I am really pleased with knife and have already found a great use for it.

I have hand tremors and I have a hard time at restaurants using flimsy flatware so I take my own. I never had a knife that went along just used whatever was in my pockets. Now I have a knife with good heft to it to go along with my fork and spoon, plus it is better than any steak knife from a restaurant,

I remember it now, it's a good pattern I think :) I have this one, thanks to some friends who visited Paris, and the good advice of @Jolipapa

I was sorry to read about your hand tremors, but that's a great use of the knife

Smashing trio Chuck, great colours in your pic

Thanks Ron, it didn't take long to bake ;) Worth a try sometime my friend :)

Good morning! I’ve got my Wright’s Pere David Stag big ‘un and a Thrifty Thursday MAM locking drop point! Y’all be careful out there! :)

Thanks!

It's a recent purchase, so I haven't had it long enough yet to see if it happens.

I have two of those Barlows (Spearpoint and Sheepfoot blades) for a couple of months and even with regular if not extensive use the screws stay fixed. I would expect they are fixed
