Thanks, Pete & Doug! That bone is a great feeling in hand. I´m looking forward seeing/feeling how it is when it is more worn out :)

Im carrying this old Schrade...It needs my TLC, which I will do this weekend and it will be more carry ready. Have a snippet from the 1926 Schrade Catalog.

I have had the Climber with some roughed up (with 100 grit sandpaper) black scales in my pocket since Halloween and, admittedly, it may kick my Bullnose and Buck out of my pocket for a bit.

As much I dislike how stainless sits there and the steel is relatively soft, I am beginning to realize that multitool-ish patterns work best for me. Having just a single blade folder is more than enough to get through the day, but it seems that the tools that SAK's have can come in handy and can save the day when something comes up unexpectedly. If I had been carrying this guy last weekend when I was helping my buddy's mother move, life would have been a lot easier, for example...It's funny how much my philosophy has changed over the years, and I am only 18 years of age!!

I wish that I could find more soldier patterns in carbon steel like my Wenger Soldier from '43. I would carry it more if it wasn't a gift from a fellow forum member.

*Camera died, pics will come tomorrow probably...*

I wish there were more options in traditionally scaled and carbon bladed campers, but really, the pattern needs to move out of the dark ages. I want to take the Case/GEC/vintage Ulster aesthetic and mix with the Victorinox no-nonesense tool selection. The things I don't go through the day without are good scissors, a cap lifter and useful screw driver bits. What I can't stand is lugging around a classic camper with a leather awl and a can opener. Just not useful.

My solution is pair my traditional locking folder (in my RFP) with a Leatherman Micra (in my LFP). I'll keep agitating for an updated camper with traditional scales, carbon blades and scissors. Heck, if Case can make a peanut with scissors they can do the same for the camper pattern.

This old Carl Schlieper is with me, today .... the more carry it, the very more, I enjoy that beautiful knife :)

The 2012 forum knife is a fine piece of cutlery, but it seems a little big for everyday carry for me, so I have "old faithful" in my pocket today.

Sure have missed the little fellow.
