All this talk lately...

I think the heat is stressing out the river birch tree in my Front yard. Looks like it has been snowing leaves.
Thats a very nice knife, Les. I'm curious about the age and the size. Looks to me to be mini trapper sized, am I close? Cool jigging and bone color too!

It is just a tiny bit longer than a mini trapper and a little wider. The pile side is darker than the mark side. I have not been able to find any information on how to age Clauss knives, also different companies made knives for Clauss. Looks like Case, Robeson, and Queen Made knives for them. Not sure who else. I sort of think this may be a Queen made knife but who knows. It is nice and snappy with good half stops. Thanks for the compliments!

Using NOS Schrade USA parts (blades, springs, brass bolsters, and liners) Jeff at Second Life Knives built this jackknife off the Schrade 33/34 frame. Nice addition, right in my sweet spot. OH

Oh wow!
I have often thought about buying another 33 to modify, and yours is exactly what I picture. I am hesitant, though, because of that darned Swinden key! They’re tricky. That is really nice!

Hey! I don’t have that book, but that is what we’re all about at our little market farm ~ no dig/no till, organic. I’ve gardened that way for years. Nice knife.

Mine does that too.
Usually it’s a sign it’s stressed by not enough H2O. It’s natural habitat is riverine.
“River” birch...;)

Put your hose on a tiny trickle and let it run for a full day, maybe two - give it a deep soak under the drip line.

Thanks Barrett! The blade thickness on the MAM is listed as .070”. Very thin! :)

I’ve got one on the way. :D

It's a pliers sheath I got from Tractor Supply, I cut down the throat and wet molded it to my Bullbuster. I applied a couple coats of kiwi brown shoe polish to finish it offView attachment 1383381
Originally looked like this, you can Google clc 767 plier sheath and it'll pop up,usually run about 5 bucks online, was bit over 6 bucks buying at Tractor Supply. :)

Very resourceful, David. I like it!

Modded Opinel No. 8

The finish on that Opinel looks great!

Hope everyone has a great Friday :) These two for me today, my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot, and my Bradford Guardian 3

That Bradford looks like a handy little fixed blade, Jack. Do you have a pocket sheath for it, or carry it in your bag? (I assume belt carry is out of the question over there?) :D

I got this one in the mail a couple days ago. I sharpened it up and put it to use making lunch today. I think I might carry it for a while (a couple weeks? a month?) and see how I like carrying a knife this size regularly.
