What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carried this one for the last two days. It's actually kind of snappy, got bit by the pen blade last night.

Totin’ a 35 Churchill today. I will also be smoking a Churchill sized cigar in a few minutes!

Thank you Will Power Will Power . I am hoping someone from GEC sees this and restores sanity to the design department before we see a “Beard Scout.” It is hard for me to look at the mock up. But I do applaud them for always striving to improve their products. If the price of that is a few knives that slightly miss the mark, it is a price well worth paying. They have had many more successes than failures.

Is that a tenkara rod? I've been trying to decide whether to get one of those or just 5 weight to replace the one I left in Alaska.

Yes, it’s a tenkara rod. I really like it and probably use it more than my other fly rods. Certain times of the year I just leave it in my truck and if an opportunity to fish comes up, I’m ready. It’s super simple, lightweight, and fast to pull out and be ready to go. I guess it just works well for what I do. Around my house I mostly use it for bass and bluegill. If I’m camping in the sierras or at our ranch in Oregon, then I’m using it on trout. It’s fun for both. Now, landing a fish with it is a bit of an adventure. Since you don’t have the line in your hand, you can’t pull the line in or reel it in, but you get used to it.

I've had this Grohmann Slimline for a few days. It's very nice. Its opening action wasn't very snappy out of the box, so I gave its joint an oil flushing yesterday, and it's a bit better now. I'll probably do the same process again soon, I don't think I got all the gunk out yet.

But other than that, I'm really happy with it. Today's my first day off work in two weeks and I'm having an afternoon whiskey, enjoying this new pocket tool.
