What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Two recent acquisitions from my recent trip to the GEC store. Last Friday we were driving up to the Titusville, PA area for the unofficial GEC Rendezvous. I called ahead to the GEC Store to see how late they would be open. The store was going to be open until 4:30 pm and we made it with 15 minutes to spare. Joan Mae has a year under her belt as the store manager and she took care of us again this year. On the way out Bill Howard took the time to hang out and talk with us on the front porch. Thank you Joan Mae and Bill Howard for being so accommodating.

I won this Red Trout Knife in a giveaway generously hosted by @Wharn . Thank you Steve. It is rewarding to own a knife made by one of our own, Eric, @ea42 , and designed by the late Richard Lanigan. I did not have the honor of knowing Richard, but, by all accounts, he was an intrepid adventurer well deserving of his own line of knives to live on after him.

I will never be able to pick up this knife without thinking about Richard, Eric, and Steve. The knife was conceived and manufactured in the eastern United States, sold to Steve in Hawaii, and now is with me in New Orleans. Only on the Porch could all of this have come together!

And I must add that Eric did an excellent job building this knife!

Excellent post Harry. You get high marks for the old and new Northfields. But the Highland cows stole the show.
Thanks a lot Travis . They kind of stole my families hearts in 2010 when we were in Scotland . Now there is a small farm about a mile from us that raises and shows them . I have to admit though that the photos that I have been showing are from the Net .
Take care my friend and be safe . Sorry we missed you guys at the Non-Dezvous .

Harry

Today Im carrying a Buck 118 Personal. I pulled it out yesterday and found rust! I used it for some sort of dirty job last time I used it I guess, and I didnt clean it up. So I cleaned off the rust spot (I sure am glad it was a stainless knife I forgot to clean!) and Ive been carrying it to make up for the abuse lol.
