What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We slept in this morning and it felt great! After breakfast I washed, then broke and stringed 3 lbs of White Half Runners getting them ready to cook. Pam was busy sewing on some curtains she was making for the office room. For lunch we cooked stewed russet potatoes and fried up a big pan of fresh okra. Pam made a big ole Peach Cobbler to have for dessert. :D

Yesterday in our mail delivery I got a package from my friend Jack @Jack Black. Jack told me a couple days back that he had sent me a package, but with all the postal issues that seem to be going on, I didn’t know when it would arrive. The package contained a Wright’s Large Lambsfoot in Ebony. Jack had a few of these made up at the factory sometime ago. Jack knows I like the big ‘uns and we had discussed these knives before. There are several folks here that are already the proud owners of these special knives. I know you’re probably already in bed Jack, I’m so late posting this, but I just want to say Thank You pal! Your generosity is without peer! It has been the only knife I carried today! :D

Great photos, Paul! You’ve got a good-looking patina going on your Waynorth Lambsfoot.

What happened, Jack, did they shorten the blade length you’re legally allowed to carry over there again?! ;) :D Just kidding, mate. That’s an interesting little knife!

I’m still totin’ this Micarta #23 LL, and this morning I sat out on the front deck and enjoyed the first cigar I’ve had in a while.

Thanks Barrett, it's aging well, much like your 23:cool: I was going to partake in a good cigar this weekend but I blinked and its Sunday night:eek: I am off tomorrow so there's still a chance I may just enjoy one:thumbsup::)

Congratulations Rachel, that's a very kind gesture :)
Thank you, Jack. Clay is a very kind and generous fellow. I'm honored to be the recipient and caretaker of these knives.

Speaking of kind and generous fellows, our friend Jack is a wonderful example. I won one of those ebony big-uns in a GAW last year. It's a great Lambsfoot knife, possessing the simplicity of the classic design, made to the exacting standards of a @Jack Black SFO.

Got my first gec knife about a week ago. I had never heard of gec before the forum knife polls. Im liking it, fit and finish are amazing. This knife had been my constant companion all weekend.

Im not so new to traditional knives but this thread has rekindled my fondness of them. I hope to be posting more as i expand my horizons.

You’re exactly right Rachel! Our friend Jack is an excellent example of a person that is both kind and generous! Yours is looking better and better all the time! I’m looking forward to this Ebony big ‘un a lot! Be well! :)

Your Ibberson 'Burma Knife' was a great choice for the anniversary of the end of the war in the Pacific, what we call VJ Day here

Have a great Sunday everyone

I usually carry the "Burma Knife" every day along with another (this Otter 3 rivet knife for months now) and I wasn't really thinking about the 75th anniversary of the end of the the war in the Pacific (though the formal Japanese surrender was on 2 September). It was a happy coincidence that I posted on that day. Thanks for the reminder Jack! Now I'm going to watch the WW2 documentary "The World at War" again.:)
