Thanks Jack! The peaches are locally grown. I like to support the local farmers when possible. They’re really sweet and juicy. Nice choices for a hopefully relaxing Sunday my friend!![]()

We slept in this morning and it felt great! After breakfast I washed, then broke and stringed 3 lbs of White Half Runners getting them ready to cook. Pam was busy sewing on some curtains she was making for the office room. For lunch we cooked stewed russet potatoes and fried up a big pan of fresh okra. Pam made a big ole Peach Cobbler to have for dessert.

Yesterday in our mail delivery I got a package from my friend JackJack Black . Jack told me a couple days back that he had sent me a package, but with all the postal issues that seem to be going on, I didn’t know when it would arrive. The package contained a Wright’s Large Lambsfoot in Ebony. Jack had a few of these made up at the factory sometime ago. Jack knows I like the big ‘uns and we had discussed these knives before. There are several folks here that are already the proud owners of these special knives. I know you’re probably already in bed Jack, I’m so late posting this, but I just want to say Thank You pal! Your generosity is without peer! It has been the only knife I carried today!

What happened, Jack, did they shorten the blade length you’re legally allowed to carry over there again?!![]()

Just kidding, mate. That’s an interesting little knife!

Thank you, Jack. Clay is a very kind and generous fellow. I'm honored to be the recipient and caretaker of these knives.
Speaking of kind and generous fellows, our friend Jack is a wonderful example. I won one of those ebony big-uns in a GAW last year. It's a great Lambsfoot knife, possessing the simplicity of the classic design, made to the exacting standards of aJack Black SFO.

You’re exactly right Rachel! Our friend Jack is an excellent example of a person that is both kind and generous! Yours is looking better and better all the time!I’m looking forward to this Ebony big ‘un a lot! Be well!

I usually carry the "Burma Knife" every day along with another (this Otter 3 rivet knife for months now) and I wasn't really thinking about the 75th anniversary of the end of the the war in the Pacific (though the formal Japanese surrender was on 2 September). It was a happy coincidence that I posted on that day. Thanks for the reminder Jack! Now I'm going to watch the WW2 documentary "The World at War" again.![]()
Thanks again for the Lambsfoot Jack!Good for you Ron, I'm sure they appreciate the support, and thank you for the compliment![]()

I've certainly admired it before, it's a great example of the patternIt seems a little strange they were celebrating the end of the war before the Japanese surrender!
I hope you enjoyed the documentary

Thanks again for the Lambsfoot Jack! It’s going to be in the pocket again today. Last year we didn’t put anything in our freezer except purchased frozen items. This year with the situation as it is we decided to change our approach in that area. We’ve got an 18 cubic foot freezer and it’s going to be full of frozen fresh food. So far we have corn, green beans, okra, squash and peaches. I’m afraid this fall and winter will see more lockdowns including shortages that occurred earlier in the year. We’ve also stocked up on canned food, dried beans, flour, corn meal and we even got two pounds of yeast!
I had rather be as self sufficient as possible. That old Scout makes a great companion for your Hartshead. Gives you a very good selection of blades. That Duncan is a super nice guy. Pam and I met him and Paul at the Rendezvous a couple of years back. They are both super likable guys. Have a great day pal!

Jack, the photo of your stag HHB really shows its wonderful "root beer float" colors. And the Scout is a really neat knife. Love the little design carved into the bail.
Well, it's a gloomy morning and more thunder storms on the way. Been like this for several weeks now but at least no hurricanes coming through. Weather man says it's going to be a bad year for them. Normally I would keep my HHB inside during wet weather but I just can't keep it out of my pocket. Out this morning pruning my weeping Japanese red maple tree. More green than red at this time of the year
