What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’ll take what I can get, but this is going to be so weird watching with no crowd noise.

BTW...in my house, all orange delrin is deemed Clemson orange.

I see plenty of orange....Lake Hartwell is less than 100 yards from my front door.

Checking out Lock and Dam No 11 in Dubuque Iowa, still on vacation.

Camillus,Crescent plus the micarta 23;)
Nice pair of tools, David!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I've been carrying a Crescent channel-lock just like yours since January, when I spotted it at Tractor Supply. Pretty handy tool to have available at all times!

I'm carrying this Case Crimson bone medium stockman today.

Standout stockman, Dean! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I like the lumber on your lambsfoots, José! ;):cool:

Soup's on, and it looks scrumptious, LT!!:cool::thumbsup:

The chestnut jigged bone on your peanut is so sleek, smooth, and sublime!:cool::cool:

Some day I'll have to get a Laguiole. Resistance is fruitile.
But here's a pretty nice AW Wadsworth in Wodnesday wood.

That is definitely a nice knife, Jer!:thumbsup::cool: I've seen it posted in numerous threads recently, and I stopped and stared each each time.

Toting couple of whittlers for today, one covered in wood. :)
Notable pair of worthy whittlers, JJ!:thumbsup::cool:

I never thought I’d be tempted to try a Rough Ryder, but seeing so many of these RR’s floating in so many pockets, I’m intrigued. Honestly they look better than I thought they would! I might just toss $15 bucks at one and see what it’s like.
I like 'em a lot, but I'm kind of a low-rent knife enthusiast.

Ashley’s Choice lambsfoot today.
Acs are Always Commendable, Joshua :thumbsup::thumbsup:, but the book is what really caught my eye. First, I was intrigued by the cover art and went online to see if I could find out what it is; no success in my search, so can you help me out? ;) While doing that I read a little bit about the content of the book, and it sounds like something I'd enjoy checking out!:thumbsup:

Very nice, Gary!

Thanks, Jeff; the bone on my Schrade Anniversary whittler is outstanding! :)

I love old ebony jacks. The only thing better is one that's bareheaded. ;)

The eternal debate over bareheaded/endcap!;)
To show how old I am, I'll say it reminds me of the old Miller Lite ads: Tastes Great/Less Filling.

You're totin' some nice ones Gary !
Thanks, Steve. :)

Thanks, GT. Scruton was an English philosopher who sadly passed away back in January. He wrote an excellent introduction to the topic of Beauty for the Oxford "Very Short Introduction" series, and he is one of the last great public intellectuals. He's probably most popular for his defense of Burkeian Conservativism (as in Edmund Burke, the great English statesman and early opponent of the French Revolution).

The Soul of the World is Scruton's defense of immaterial meaning over and against the contemporary scientific reduction of all explanations to biological necessity. It isn't a defense of religion, per se, but certainly of transcendence and the sacred.

The thing I like best about Scruton is how clearly he communicates. Even very difficult philosophical problems get treated with a clarity that makes them seem simpler than they really are when you try to think them out on your own. But he doesn't clarify in such a way as to make his own perspective seem obvious--he isn't an arrogant writer--but as one who shows much respect for the thinkers before him, even when he wishes to disagree, extend a point, or acknowledge a deficiency.

I've been toting these early Imperial BSA Scouts for Saturday. :)
Fantastic looking pair of scouts JJ, you really captured their beauty in that pic.

I went big sharp blade and small whittler today. I was ready for anything but of course when you're most prepared it seems like no cutting task presents itself. :( Maybe Ill use one at dinner tonight. :D
