What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Added this one to my rotation this week. It carries well.

Walden Cattle Knife by GEC.

Great looking knife! Covers lots of needs as well. Not a bad combination.

The Otter Andi sent me and a Leatherman today. Been pouring with rain for days here so doubt I'll be able to get anymore pics today.

Started the day with a Halfrich lockback (Hidalgo) in pocket but switched to this upon returning home. Gotta go to town later and don't want to scare the dental hygienist while she's working! :p

Elliott, that dental hygenist should come to know what's expected from you, so don't hold back!

My last day at work before the long weekend.

Today's carry; my Ohta WT, that you have all seen before. In my pocket also, Bud Nealy's "Little David" 5 3/4" OAL. I carry the Nealy in a leather pocket sheath or Bud's own, not so traditional, belt sheath.

Is that a Hidalgo in your pocket? Or are you glad to see me?
I don't even know what that means :o

Well, since my wife is also going in for a cleaning, I'm just trying to avoid her overhearing from the next room: "Is that a Hidalgo in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" :p

Edited to add:

Stu, after I posted my reply above I went back to the thread and saw your reply. I would say GMTA but it's probably more like FMTA (filthy minds think alike). Too funny. ;)

Great you like the little Webermesser, Jack :)

Today a C. Schlieper, Solingen Muskrat was with me - it´s a nice big slippie. I think that was the original size of this pattern, but I don´t know.

> hey jon slider, what is that knife stuck into

its not my photo, and I also had to stare at it for a while. I decided it was stuck in a frozen puddle, ice.

At first I thought to myself "The hygienist is poking around in Elliott's pockets? I've been going to the wrong dentist!" :D

Yay!!!...back from the dentist with a clean bill of health and nary a comment on what was in my pocket...:p

So, to celebrate I've removed the Ruple and replaced it with a slightly more rugged 4.25" Eye Brand stockman in stag and 1095:

Elliott - this stockman of C. Schlieper is in Germany the most popular pattern, as far as I´ve heard. Nice knife & stag :)

Thanks, Andi. They make a nice knife. I have a couple of older, vintage ones (trapper and hunter) and a sibling to the one I just posted with synthetic scales as well:

I've had quite a few knives over the years from the Obertz and Schlieper factories most of which were gifted away. A lot of tradition there for sure.

This S&M Heritage jack. Swapped out the picture this morning. It's a pretty sweet knife; I may end up carrying it more.

This S&M Heritage jack. Not a good photo because the wood is too dark; it is the rosewood version of the knife. It's pretty sweet; I may end up carrying it more.
