Nice knives and it looks like you'll be enjoying some backstraps too. Congrats, Jim.

Thanks Greg, that was my daughters deer but I think she will shareo_O

Back home from 7 days in the Northwoods of Michigan. Carried this American made puukko style knife every single enjoyable day out there in the beautiful wilds of the Huron National Forest. Went from blizzard like wind and snow to summer like heat in the course of that week in deer camp.:)
Hope everyone here had a great week as well.

. Any amount of time you can spend in the woods is great. Fall weather makes it even better:thumbsup:

That meal looks fit for a Pittsburgh Pirate. :D:thumbsup:

Thanks Rachel :D

It certainly was a great idea!:thumbsup:

Thank you very kindly, Jack!!!

Awesome two days of totes Jack; love the old Joseph Rodgers with that classic vintage whistle and lighter!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Many thanks JJ, that WW1 knife was actually made by Joseph Allen :)

This great knife was gifted to me. I just finished putting on a really good edge and now it's ready to go to work:). This was an SFO for Jack Black - The F&F is really nice and the Ironwood covers are good looking too:D.

Jack, thanks for asking about how I'm doing - I think I'm doing well but I'll find out more on Wed. when I go back to the surgeon for my 1st follow-up visit. Hopefully he will remove these stitches. They are driving me up a wall.

I’ve been carrying the Wenger Standard Issue as my secondary down and dirty edc and sometimes as my only knife. I’d forgotten how nearly perfect it is. The alox covers appeal to me and are virtually indestructible. The spear point blade is a great size even if it’s smaller than I usually carry. The tools are a good variety. A large flat head screwdriver with bottle opener, a smaller screwdriver that works on most phillips heads with a can opener and an awl that gets used in more ways than I can count.
Today it’s paired with a blue denim RR swayback.2EA76204-0600-4F5E-A112-23AA9CBFBEF4.jpeg

Decided to move the (BTI) Old Timer 23OT "Scout" knife and SAK Signature (both on lanyard) from the rollator tote bag to my pocket.
Circa 1978-1986 Old Timer 858 is still in the same pocket.
Circa 1978-1982 Old Timer 7OT with 1095 carbon steel blade is still on my belt.

How do you like the 858?
Chores are done - ready for winter now BUT today has been a perfect warm and sunny day. Nothing more to do then simply sit in the woods and be at peace. Nice huh? I wish you all peace too!

Beautiful, Greg.
Carried a special one today.

You did!
And magically captured those yellow leaves (black cherry?) in a way that makes them look hand painted.

How do you like the 858?
I like it very much. I'm probably going to carry and use it until at least December 31. :)

I also have a BTI 858OT and 858OTB. I believe I prefer this vintage 858, not because of where it was made, but because the BTI 858OT/OTB are only 4.5 inch closed. The vintage 858 is a full 4.625 inch closed. :) IMHO, All three are a high quality well made knife. :)
I'm "strange" and/or "weird" in that I've always preferred a large stockman over a medium or small. To me, the large just look and feel more rugged/robust.
