What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Long time since I have been here. Lately I have run into a bit of a problem, looks like my nails don't take opening strong slip joints very well but break easily. I have to google what causes this problem (probably age, nothing wrong with my fingers though), but concerning knives it has caused me to switch more into lockbacks, knives that are otherwise easily pinched open and slipjoints that have a easy opening notch like this. I plan to make a notch to those of my knives that I have trouble pinching, it makes using them much easier. Sadly this makes multi bladed knives problematic.

Should that read "PRY-ER" owner? :D

 :D

Starting my morning with the Dogleg Jack...

Handsome Jack there my friend :)

:D:thumbsup:

That's a fine old jack, Jack. As long as there's enough nail nick to open it, you've got a fine paper cutting blade there.
I'm stubborn like that. ;)

Thanks Rachel, like your Boker, that blade definitely has some use left, got a wicked sharp edge on it :)

Good-looking pair Mike

A balmy 10 degrees F this morning, with a couple of inches of fresh powder overnight. A good pair of boots and a sharp knife are appropriate. Stay warm! Stay safe!

Cool pic Gary :)

Thanks a lot, Jack!!! Definitely have to tread lightly with those sharp little fellas.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great covers on that 1 1/2 Sheffield Jack; the 1/2 should also do nicely on cardboard duty if you want to give your A. Wright beauty a rest!:D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Many thanks JJ, though I'm afraid my Lambsfoot hogged all the cardboard cutting! :D

Toting these two thrifty fellows from the thirties today. :)

Sweet! :)

Dan, when I was a kid the field directly across the street was owned by the church. In the summer time we played ball on it. In the winter the town would bring a snow plow and berm the snow up. The fire department would then bring a water truck and flood it into a skating rink. Try doing that now with tax payer dollars. Even though it was open for the entire town, I’m sure it’d be frowned upon today.
They also did that in my town when I was a kid, lots of fun. They stopped doing it in the late 70s early 80s.

Sorry to hear that.
I suggest a daily supplement of Biotin.
It’s one of the B vitamins that is essential for hair, nails, and skin health.

I am never bored. But in an effort to not be boring to others, I’m including a shot of the Wenger and Camillus pen that I have in my lft and that wee little pocket that is too small for much of anything else. Otherwise, is the same old users in my rfp.
Enjoy the day!View attachment 1499781View attachment 1499782

Thank you, Jack. :)

That knife is a Unicorn. ;)
It looks awfully sweet sitting there.

Your #44 is making me anxious for Mike's Recoil that I have reserved.
I hope you're enjoying your new Case too.:thumbsup:
The gunstock is a great pattern in a single blade. I’m still unsure about the Case. I’m going to give it a shot for a few days and see.
