What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I see you managed to grab a new TC Barlow in that time.:thumbsup:

Sure did. Love it. Read a bit of the GEC thread this morning to catch up. Really surprised to see the feedback on the TC. Mine is stellar fit and finish. Spring is dead flush at open and close. Barely proud at half. Great grinds. Some times you get blessed with a good one! This is my first go at a TC/Barlow/15. I’m really loving the 15 size. It’s a keeper for sure.

I would say, (and have posted) the same about the Sepia. I don’t have my GG yet, but it was half the price of the Sepia so, in my opinion, that HAS to be taken into consideration.

That looks familiar.:) No need to apologize. You can use that picture of my SB jr. anytime for educational purposes.:D
Thanks! After I copied it I remember thinking that I should have made note of who it belonged to.
Contacted Case, they said to send it to them for further review and determine if parts are available for repair.
Recycled picture of an old friend today.

You could always order more until you find one with the action you prefer... then sell the others.
I might do that. I also have my eye on an old knife up for auction that I may go for and sell the Case to help offset the purchase.

Long time since I have been here. Lately I have run into a bit of a problem, looks like my nails don't take opening strong slip joints very well but break easily. I have to google what causes this problem (probably age, nothing wrong with my fingers though), but concerning knives it has caused me to switch more into lockbacks, knives that are otherwise easily pinched open and slipjoints that have a easy opening notch like this. I plan to make a notch to those of my knives that I have trouble pinching, it makes using them much easier. Sadly this makes multi bladed knives problematic.

Try reinforcing the tip of your thumb nails with thin layers of superglue near the tip. It works well for me since I have thin and weak thumb nails due to biting my nails when I was a kid.

The patina on that 86 makes the blade blend into the countertop nicely. That pattern has been a bit of a grail for me since I heard about GEC. How well does it carry in jeans pockets? I would guess they're a bit bulkier than a tl-29? I don't expect to ever find one at a price that I could convince my wife to let me pay, but it's nice to dream hahaha.

I've got my Vic electrician with me today.

Thanks, they are a bit bulky but I regularly carry large traditionals so milage may vary. They're a great pattern imho I got a great deal on this one on the exchange. You may find a Case 3299 1/2 easier to find to tide you over til you can score an 86.
