In my current rotation schedule, I left a "space" in most categories into which I could schedule a new knife I might get in a given category, rather than waiting until I'd gone through the entire 60-week (or however long it is) rotation and only scheduling new knives in the next new rotation. This week happened to be a week in which there was a "hole" in the Peanut-ish category (although I am carrying the Case peanut above as a representative of stag knives). I haven't acquired a new peanut-like knife in the 13 weeks since my current schedule began, so I decided to fill the slot this week with an AG Russell 1-arm knife, a recent gift (along with the pictured pocket slip) from @JohnDF, even though the knife has few characteristics in common with a Peanut.

I agree about the Alox; look for it again in the not-so-distant future in a Best Looking Five thread near you. There's just something about well worn red Alox...
Should that read "PRY-ER" owner?
Punny Guy.

Your dad's barlow is a magnificent keepsake!
Thanks for the kind words, Bruce.Thank you Gary, you are always a pleasant poster!
With our Sears store closed down for good, all that's left are the products they sold - seems our Kenmore appliances and my Craftsman tools & knives have outlasted their purveyor. OH

That's a prize copperhead, Joe!
Sounds good! I ordered the canoe simply because I was curious what it would be like for $4 (may have jumped up to $6 by the time I decided to order one). But it's rock-solid and more than satisfactory.I am not particularly enthusiastic about Chinese made knives, but I saw an HCOA splitback whittler on Ebay yesterday and it was extremely done.
They nailed the split backspring and it looked to have excellent F&F.
Glad I could help you learn a new term, Dan.lol GT , too funny, I had to google it believe it or not. I had heard the term but never got around to find its meaning (so many phrases and words I have still yet to learn in English ... but the awful thing is that I am forgetting my Spanish
)
We speak Spanglish at home

Very handsome half whittler, Gary!really late or awful early but, it's today

My sowbelly pic in direct sunlight with inky black shadows of the blades on a wall right behind the knife could easily make it look like a 6-blade congress!...

Welcome back!
Versatile Black Friday combo, John. The long, smooth bolster on the Böker Barlow is a fetching feature!
Sweet Camillus pen knife, Jeff!...
I am never bored. But in an effort to not be boring to others, I’m including a shot of the Wenger and Camillus pen that I have in my lft and that wee little pocket that is too small for much of anything else. Otherwise, is the same old users in my rfp.
Enjoy the day!View attachment 1499781View attachment 1499782
I am so sorry to read and hear about this Harry and anyone else that knew Ron. I will miss his posts and seeing him at Rendezvous. RIP Ron.This may not be the place where this should be posted , but since it is one of the Highest Viewed threads there is , this is where I am going to post it and this will be tough for me to do .
Today I lost a very good friend to me and a good friend to many of you . His wife has asked to let you all know that @Half/Stop Ron passed away . He had open heart surgery for a Torn Aorta about 3 weeks ago and was back at home for about 2 weeks . He collapsed this afternoon and was rushed to the hospital but was not strong enough to survive . I know some of you asked about him , but he did not want it to be known as to why he wasn't on the Forums . At one point , it appeared that he was Okay a couple of weeks ago , but that eventually changed . I know for a fact that I will miss him and his phone calls .
When Ron was young and running a Paper Route he would go down to the local hardware store and buy a knife on lay-away . So you know he had been collecting for a few years . He was 66 years old . In the Louis Lamour books about the Sacketts , they talked about " A Guy Good Enough To Ride The River With " . I would have " rode the river " with Ron .
