Case Backpocket...

Thank you
Captivating wood, Dean!

Splendid pair, Paul; cool bolster "refinements" on the Texas Jack!

Thanks, Jack.

Beautiful stag lockback, José!

I agree about the Alox; look for it again in the not-so-distant future in a Best Looking Five thread near you.
You're pretty punny yourself, sir, with that prior/pry-er remark. :p

Fantastic German duo! What sort of wood does the Ankermesser have?

Your dad's barlow is a magnificent keepsake!

Thanks for the kind words, Bruce.
We're still using a Kenmore clothes dryer that my wife had when we got married over 35 years ago!

Thanks, JJ; that RR electrician is built like a tank!

Those Hammer Brands are cool as cracked ice!

Bang-up Barlow pair!

Thanks, Dean; it's sure a favorite of mine.

As Jed Clampett would say in his Beverly Hills mansion: "Wellll, doggies!!"

Gold standard pair, Steve!

That's a prize copperhead, Joe!

Sounds good! I ordered the canoe simply because I was curious what it would be like for $4 (may have jumped up to $6 by the time I decided to order one). But it's rock-solid and more than satisfactory.

Glad I could help you learn a new term, Dan. ;)
The SBJr is looking fine!

Very handsome half whittler, Gary!

My sowbelly pic in direct sunlight with inky black shadows of the blades on a wall right behind the knife could easily make it look like a 6-blade congress!
Nice brace of Barlows, Jack!
I'm intrigued by that Barlow definition specifying a single blade.

Welcome back!

Versatile Black Friday combo, John. The long, smooth bolster on the Böker Barlow is a fetching feature!

Sweet Camillus pen knife, Jeff!
Are you enjoying sticking with that other pair all week?

Blade delete 86 in tortoise. Amazing knife, I love the coping blade but sometimes it’s nice to have a thinner profile.
Recently sent mine off for the same treatment, can’t wait to see it, yours looks terrific!

This arrived Saturday evening. It’s been in my pocket since.
That is a great little Barlow!

Fantastic German duo! What sort of wood does the Ankermesser have?

Thanks! Really enjoying them. The Otter Anchor has sapeli wood, very nice grain to it.

I
I am so sorry to read and hear about this Harry and anyone else that knew Ron. I will miss his posts and seeing him at Rendezvous. RIP Ron.

I've been pages behind on this thread and I must have missed this news. What a terrible loss. Ron was one of the most welcoming folks on the porch. I remember his kindness when I first showed up to the forums. I never got to meet him in person, but it wasn't hard to tell he was a kind soul. Sad, sad, sad.

I couldn’t agree more and it saddened me greatly. He was such a nice guy and good person he is missed beyond words can say.

Thank you. I found a very good epoxy that dries clear and can be polished to a shine. I like the idea of filling missing areas with it (rather than trying to hide the repair with new m.o.p.) so it's solid, but shows the original materials. I believe it's more historically accurate, or something...

That's a fine pocket chopper you have today.

Excellent Rachel  My friend @ADEE has done a few good MOP repairs, but I'm not sure what type of epoxy he uses. Thanks my friend :)

Thanks, Jack! I like the way they did the etch on the lambsfoot knives. It is subtle, but durable.

I'm really glad it's lasted Joshua :)

Fantastic knives and photos Jack !

Many thanks Gev :)

In my current rotation schedule, I left a "space" in most categories into which I could schedule a new knife I might get in a given category, rather than waiting until I'd gone through the entire 60-week (or however long it is) rotation and only scheduling new knives in the next new rotation. This week happened to be a week in which there was a "hole" in the Peanut-ish category (although I am carrying the Case peanut above as a representative of stag knives). I haven't acquired a new peanut-like knife in the 13 weeks since my current schedule began, so I decided to fill the slot this week with an AG Russell 1-arm knife, a recent gift (along with the pictured pocket slip) from JohnDF JohnDF , even though the knife has few characteristics in common with a Peanut.

Black and blue today :)

Handsome pair Mike :)

Thanks, Jack. :)

That knife makes me want to build a great big sammich... and then cleave it in half.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

LOL! :D I think I might have to try that out my friend! :D ;)

Starting my Sunday with these two...

Terrific twosome

Crazy about your couple of classic, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

I hope your scalded hand is getting closer to normal, Jack.:thumbsup:

Thanks a lot Gary, my hand is looking (and feeling) a lot better :)

Sunday around the house pair today. The little Vic Alox was a gift from my youngest son. He spent a semester abroad when he was an undergrad at Cornell. The semester included a 6 week break! He got to visit the UK, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium (I'm sure I missed a few), I got a Swiss Army Knife! :D
Actually it's one of my treasures. I'll make sure it's passed on to one of my grandsons.
Have a safe and peaceful Sunday!

Very cool Gary :)

It is a timeless shot; outstanding!:thumbsup:

Thank you kindly, Jack!!!

A very attractive and useful pair you have today; an outstanding slicer and a cool chopper will take care of business!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Going with these two mid century strawberry jacks by Robeson; one wearing composite ant the other in bone. :)

Sincere thanks buddy, your brace of Robeson Jacks go together beautifully :)

My sowbelly pic in direct sunlight with inky black shadows of the blades on a wall right behind the knife could easily make it look like a 6-blade congress!
Nice brace of Barlows, Jack!

Thanks pal, the book is A Glossary of Words Used in the Neighbourhood of Sheffield by Sidney Oldall Addy, from 1880

Have a good week folks :) Starting off mine by @jsdistin re-built Lambsfoot, with Giraffe Bone covers, and a stainless Penknife by TEW

The forum is acting funny this morning and I lost a bunch of quotes.

Thank you, Jack. :)

I expect to see pictures of the cleaving. :D

Very cool coloring in that Giraffe bone... Beautiful Lamb.:thumbsup:

Most annoying o_O

I'll try and remember buddy, thank you for the compliment :)

Moore Maker sgl blade Peanut done for them by Bear. So comfortable. Great user. I learned on this one to check the knife in the box before buying. The shield stamp is not complete. Part of Matador, Tx did not stamp. Experience is the dear teacher who never retires, and damn fools will learn from no other. Lol

Thanks for the cigar box info. :)
I hope you're recovering well from the wisdom teeth extraction, with no complications.:thumbsup:
Since I had mine removed, people say I'm "not all there".
Thanks. I've never been accused of being too wise, so I'll have to see what the future brings I guess! Haha
