What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We were supposed to get some more of that white stuff this past weekend, but I guess it missed us completely. No worries, still plenty on the ground here to go around. :D

Are they doing the car-on-the-ice this year, Harry?

Yes they are Barrett . Much to my surprise , we did see that it was " On the Ice " last week . We just do not go into that town very much anymore . Nancy usually is doing TAXES this time of the year , but she has finally retired . I used to take her in to work and then go take the pictures . IMO the temperatures have not gone down as low as normal , but we have not had the Big Melt days either . So we were somewhat surprised when we saw that the car was on the ice . I will try to get a shot of it sometime soon my friend .

Sounds good, Harry. You certainly don’t have to go out of your way, but if you’re over that way at some point, the car-on-the-ice is always fun to see. :) I hope Nancy’s enjoying retirement!

So far this winter has seemed relatively mild here as well, but I guess it’s been cold enough, because there have been fish houses and full-size trucks out on Minnetonka since just after New Year’s.

I've got my Lloyd with me today. The pic is not new, as we had about a foot of new snow overnight. The Motorola Razr pictured was retired long ago, and wasn't my first mobile phone, just the oldest that I still have. Man I wish I could get by with using it again. Best cellphone ever made IMO. Just right for the pocket, unlike the the current crop that get larger every year. My next new smartphone, which I'm due for, will be one of the new flip phones.

Here's a web pic of the first carphone I ever had! At least the image looks like it. I still have a newer car phone in a box somewhere....Wow, how things have changed!

Anyway, ain't my Lloyd beautiful! :D

You had a carphone??!!  I thought only Batman and Charlie (with the Angels) had those! :D

I miss the small phones, and am dreading getting a new smartphone o_O

Your Lloyd IS beautiful Gary! :)

Thanks a lot Jack!!! I'm hoping for a nice little adventure, soon! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Lamb looks awesome in its new ebony covers, making quite the tuxedo classy pair with your #44!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I hope you get one soon JJ, my adventure today is going to be taking my empty beer bottles to the re-cycling bin at the end of the street

Thank you very much my friend, I enjoyed carrying them :)

After seeing Jack Black Jack Black 's post I had an urge to put ebony in my pocket. :)

Eye-catching ebony JJ, two classy carries :)

I've thought about the car-on-the-ice often! :D I was going to ask Harry yesterday, but figured he might not be driving past it anymore. Glad to hear the tradition goes on Harry, and it'd be great to see a pic  :)

I saw a thing a while back where someone had asked why they ever bothered making protective cases for those old Nokias, and another person replied, “That wasn’t to protect the phone. It was to protect the floor.” :D

:D

Took my lamb out for a ride on one of those Zimmer-Skimmers :D

Looks like a lot of fun Dan :D

This is the oldest phone I could find, only about 15 years old I think. I used to send my old phones to a pal in Poland, before he moved to England, and I gave a large bagful of them, mostly still in the box, to a market-trader about a year ago. Kind of regret not hanging onto my old Nokia Brick! :D

Yesterday's carry, a 1980 6318 HE, today a 1984 5318 HPSS "new grind". I'm a Case Knife fan but I sure wish the current Case Knives consistently offered the W&T that these 40 year old (+/-) knives all seem to have - I would feel better about mail-order. OH

Beautiful knives! I agree with you about ordering a Case, I do order them, but I have to admit I think twice about it, but then I usually hit the “place order” button!:D

That’s a beautiful rosewood back, indeed. I hope your practice was fruitful.
I have been playing every day lately. Nobody was home today, so I was able to open up the old Pro Reverb:D
Thanks. My practice was fruitful in that I succeeded in finding things I need to work on!
Any day that you can open up a pro reverb is probably a good day!

Weather reporting has degraded as has all news reporting. Sensationalism and over dramatization.
Great re-run of the Andy Griffith show yesterday. Opie and his buddy were making newspapers, and to get interest, they repeated all of the juiciest gossip they overheard people saying. When Andy told him him “son, you can’t write all the mean things you hear people say, you should only repeat the nice things.”
And Opie said “Gee, Dad. We tried that, but nobody bought them.”
