What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Camillus 69 and a GEC 43

I didn't think I would grow to like Texas Toothpicks, but the more I looked at 'em the more I liked 'em. After a few weeks of thinking about it, I finally sprung for one (back when you could take your time when buying a GEC). I bought it mainly for the looks, both the color and the shape. What I didn't foresee was how good it would feel in my hand and that I would carry it quite often.

TGIF Porch Friends. :)
My son comes home this weekend for Spring Break... I'm so excited!
Happy Saturday Everybody... Hope it's a good weekend for all.
Couple of fine pairs of knives, John; that Böker Barlow is a handsome devil! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Enjoy your son's time at home; sounds like he has some good goals (and impressive language skills :eek:)!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

My “ultra carry” thus far, wish I had two:p

That knife is a knockout, Gus; love the jigging, the equal end frame with round bolsters! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: What's the second blade?

...
Thanks for the compliment on my photos as well. A big part of the reason that I joined here was to force myself to take photos of subjects that I don't usually photograph (my knives) and with limited gear (my phone). I'm hoping that it will give a little boost to my creativity.
How does your wife feel about your photo creativity and your son's birth? Are you allowed in the room if you have a camera?? :D

Magnificent choice for the week, Gary.:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)
Thanks for your good words, José. :)

The Mrs. and I are off to get our second dose of the Pfizer vaccine today... knife and book for the trip and wait.

I hope the 2nd dose went well with minimal side effects; sweet trapper to help you pass the time! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Reading a book in Greek is impressive to me, who doesn't even know the entire Greek alphabet! :rolleyes:

Happy Friday! With 2 new Farmer X models inbound, I thought I’d carry my favorite orange Farmer for a bit while waiting for the new arrivals.

Awesome orange, Tom, and congrats on the TWO incoming Farmer Xs! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Cool photo of a couple of classy knives! :cool::thumbsup::cool: Cadet on the bottom?

I'm following @Jack Black's lead and toting a couple of black jacks today, a Remington and a Syracuse Knife Co. (Camillus). :)
Dynamite dark duo, JJ! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Grand group, Gary. I especially admire your '86 Vic Soldier. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, Dean. :)
I like the looks of your Congress! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (I've been surprised that using a congress knife doesn't really thrill me much, even though in theory I like features of the pattern.)

Gracias John :)
You da man mi amigo !!! :thumbsup: :cool:
Love it :)

Congrats, Dan, on the pretty and practical slip! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Plaudits to John for his thoughtful generosity! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I have had this 301 for almost 47 years so I guess it is my old friend for today.
Nice to meet your old friend, Les! ;):cool::cool:

You have some very cool and unique RRs Gary, this one’s another winner!;):thumbsup:
Thanks for the encouragement, Todd. :)

A bit of a seasonal mashup there Gary. I dig the old Imperial with the freshly fallen black walnut!
Thanks, Jeff. :) The photos I post are almost never "contemporary" in the sense of being taken on the day they're posted. I usually get a few pics of a knife soon after I acquire it, and I'll use those for months/years until something gets me to take a new set (to use for another long period).

That's a beautiful Gunboat, GT. :cool::thumbsup:
I like the shield, a Double Tulip perhaps?
Thanks, John. :) I'm not an expert on conventional names for knife shields, so double tulip sounds good to me! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

@Markesharp , thanks. The steel is etched A2. Tony loved using it, and yes, it cuts!

Thanks Peregrin Peregrin , @JohnDF , and @mcc850 .
Y:eek:WZA! What a superb knife, LT!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Winning pair, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

A quality quartet, Gary. I especially like the old USA Imperial stockman. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
I heard that in my head when I read it. :):thumbsup:
Thanks, Dean; I think I like old USA Imperials at least as much as any other knives I have. :)

I am carrying the 2018 Bladeforums Buck 301 elk double ended jack today.

That elk is enchanting, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the legendary rosemary bush or the wild sago palm are going to recover from last month's big freeze. :( I can't be too sad, since the plumbing survived! :thumbsup:

I hope your plants can still bounce back, Rachel. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hope everyone is having a fine weekend.

Your stag sowbelly is an absolute stunner, Tom!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
