That is in fact an authentic ratcheting 907E. I bought my first one in Africa in the early 90s. That one got stolen, but some years later I found a seller from South Africa selling them on the Bay for a little over $20, which is where I got the next couple. Then for a while they were widely available on the big shopping site (and elsewhere) - I got the one pictured for $15 from there. Almost all the ones on the Bay now are either fakes, ridiculously overpriced, or both, so be very careful.Cool one! There’s a lot of history with the Okapi (not necessarily good history!) and it sure is an interesting lock. Does your example have the “ratchet” like opening? I bought the Kudu (made by Cold Steel) just to have in my collection. I’d really like to find an authentic South African-made version like yours in that kind of condition.
