What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Details on this 112 please
It was the July 2020 Buck of the Month. Buck's standard 420hc blade. The aluminum frame makes it almost as light as the 112LT plastic knife. At least in feel. I haven't actually weighed them and forget the weights off the top of my head. The screw together construction is nice in that you could take it apart if you wanted too. I probably won't ever do that unless I accidently come into a 112 blade with upgraded steel. Frankly Buck's 420 is fine with me. I'm not a hard user.
It's a good sized, hand filling lightweight knife. I've carried it in a cargo pocket and forgot it was there :)

Have a Blessed Easter Sunday everyone.
He is risen! I hope today brings joy and peace to all of you.
Gorgeous saddlehorn, and even better sentiments.

For this Easter, which also happens to be very promising, weather wise, I chose a jack by Emil Voos in jigged bovine bone, and this Camillus stockman I re-handled in smooth elk antler. Posed on Resurrection guitar, named not only for other circumstances, but because I finished it’s reconstruction on Easter Sunday two years ago.
Have a blessed day, friends.View attachment 1539852

Boy, they sure found a nice piece of bone for that one!

So, who makes the soddie? Not familiar with the stamp. And whats the handle on the fixie? Its gorgeous! :)

Not sure I could choose between those two either, bone on both are so sexy!
Thank you!

I did thank you R :) Had to keep going fast in the mud in order to avoid the car getting stuck tho..;) Miss Tabby is looking forward to getting out there and scaling trees too, maybe next week.

The Big CASE is a very nice outdoor coat carry for me: good bone, firm enough pulls, great snap and presence. Talking of which, that Lambfoot of your is a Big type :D Waiting to see some more scrim from you, the RR Ivory Bone offers a good canvas, time for a Walrus :cool:
Thanks. The R.R. Sailor's knife with marlin spike came in last week, and I'll have to do some planning and drawing before I start on it. Walrus, narwal, whale...so many options...
First, I've got to go out and dig around in the mud and plant some seeds. I'm sure my tabby cat will be helpful in the backyard. :rolleyes: Switching out the big Lambsfoot for a fixed blade to open bags of potting soil. (this picture is from last year, when the ground was drier)

Lovely photo.

Thank you Todd, it’s a beauty alright!
All nickel/steel, model 633865. Mid 50s with that lustrous sunburst effect of a Les Paul guit. on the bone scales. Here’s the pile.

Thanks for the pile side shot, just beautiful!;):thumbsup:

Thank you! Cool knives and an awesome guitar on your side there!

What a marvel of knives, especially canoes, Gary.:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)
Thank you for your kind comment, José. :)

Once again I carry this unbranded knife (I think it is from Sheffield), in stag.;):thumbsup:
...
That vintage stag has such vitality! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Lots of Case goodness in that post - lots to like! OH
I appreciate the support, Bruce. :)

A Double Black Friday

A great one to all.
Both Black Beauties, Gus! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary! I thought a bit about what knives would go to my kids when they're old enough (and show an interest). Most likely they'd get a SAK of some sort or one that they remember seeing me carry. As it is now, my daughter loves anything red, so a SAK works out. Of course it would be more fun to find something new and carry it for them in the meantime. Lately I've been interested in swaybacks/lambsfoot, or dogleg jacks, or gunstocks, or barlows, or.......
Sounds like a fun project you have plenty of time to work out! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here’s a photo of one of my favorites, and a knife.View attachment 1538607And another of my favorite along with a different knife...View attachment 1538608I am going to bond with these guys for a few days. A Camillus TL-29, and Taylor’s Lambfoot.
Hope this Good Friday is an exceptional day for all y’all.
Couple of knives with well-deserved reputations, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Doesn't get much more "classic" than that. :cool::thumbsup:

That's an absolute beauty, GT. :cool::thumbsup:
...
Thanks for your compliments, John. :)

A Good Friday to you all...
Until seeing it next to the Vic Cadet, I had imagined that your GEC was much bigger than it really is! :eek::rolleyes: Versatile pair right there, John! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Going on a little road trip to check out some more boats today, carrying this little sweetheart.

That's the second one of those black Böker Barlows I've noticed recently; I think @lambertiana posted the other one a couple of days ago. Very dapper knives! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

After yesterday's glittery madness, I'm appreciating classic old ebony.

None-More-Black Jones Jack:

Dark and mysterious! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Each of those knives is excellent; a quality quartet, Gary. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary; and a good description of carrying a classy black and silver TL-29. :thumbsup:
Thanks for the encouragement, Dean. :)

For Old Friends Friday, I'm carrying my Schrade 897UH stockman which I got in 1986. Schrade had a loss guarantee in those days; I sent in a statement describing how I lost my knife and they sent me this one as a replacement. Those were the 'good old days' when your word meant something.

View attachment 1538649
That's what a stockman should look like! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Hope everyone has a blessed Easter weekend.

Same to you and all the other Porch denizens, Tim! :)
Champion-caliber canoe! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary!!! That is a very cool movie!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Book and movie end quite differently, but I like them both. ;)

Heading down to Tennessee for a week or two. Here's my travel kit. I'd be a little embarrassed :oops: by the number of knives for a weekish long trip, but I also have a few moderns with pocket clips and such, so its not so bad :D
View attachment 1538760

Also, this one will be in my pocket as I travel yon and far

My wife always gives me grief about spending so much time deciding what knives to take with us for a week or two of vacation each August. ;) I have all my knives in 6 Plano boxes; maybe I should just grab them ALL; I'll bet they'd fit under the front seats of the car. :rolleyes:

Old cross farmer today

Fantastic Farmer and mirthful mask! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Dropped these two spear jacks in my pocket today. :)
Cool knives and photo, JJ! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Something about the perspective (or lighting?) makes the knives look strangely twisted/deformed to me. :eek:

10 bucks and a Buck 55
Lunch is on me

DP03R3X.jpg
Solid knife, but I'm having trouble tearing my eyes away from the "power" of the serial number on that sawbuck: 3 squared, then 2 squared, 5 cubed for the next 3 digits, and then the last 3 digits are 20 squared! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Here ya go buddy! Ole school Friday carry, 1930- mid 40’s camillus easy open swell end jack knife. Pretty sure I might’ve found something similar in the Gramps pocket back in the day. Cheers y’all.
Handsome vintage knife! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Do you really carry a "church key" every day, or just use them for "photo props" for your knives? You sure have a lot of cool old openers!

Rousing red pair, José! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Three absolute classics, Gary; an amazing trifecta!:D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I appreciate the comment, JJ! :)

Got out my oldest knife, (by far), pre 1911 made Bayonne Knife Company Jack. Pitted blades, excellent snap and sharp blades. Someone carried it a lot before I acquired it a few years ago from the looks of the pocket worn bone. RR stag sowbelly along for the ride as well today.
View attachment 1539034
That jack is ancient and awesome, Greg (and a RR stag sowbelly is one of my prized possessions ;))! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Since it is Old Friends Friday , I thought that I would carry a couple of knives that were gifted to me by a couple of friends . They may be OLD to a lot of you folks , but to me they are just a couple of young guys who I finally met in person in 2017 at the Rendezvous . I count them both as friends . If I carry one of these knives , I will always carry the other one too and always in slips . Two of my most Treasured knives .

...
Thank you very much Paul & Duncan !!!!!

Harry
Fine old knives, Harry, and even finer old friends! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

What an impressive knife! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Happy Easter everyone, carried this Case pearl handled, stainless steel sleeveboard pen to the sunrise service on the beach early this morning (it was cold!) Switching to a bigger knife in a bit. Hope everyone here has a peaceful day. OH

Heading up to the Pamlico River with my wife to join my two daughters and son-in-law for an Easter Dinner. Oldest daughter wants to go bass fishing this evening - now that's something I can strongly support! Ready to go, lots of rods and tackle loaded up, and favorite FW fishing companion selected and in my pocket. OH
