What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've always, I guess, been one to go against the grain. I happen to like the arrangement of the pen behind the main. I'm using the main 95% of the time and it's easier to access if it's in front of the secondary. That's a really nice jack; I'd be happy to take it off your hands if the pen behind the main is a problem you can't live with. I like that rotten banana bone as well. Actually like real bananas that are about that color as well, but that's off topic.

I'm carrying my new "toy" the Huckleberry Boy's knife in nifebrite acrylic today.

@Gevo: That Kent has character - definitelly! That´s a fine looking knife, Sir :)

Today there was my trusty GEC #66 Serpentine Jack and a Robert Klaas Penknife (with corkscrew) with me...

The Kent today

Man! That's a nice looking jack knife. Just enough bling to be above the plain, but still a working knife, meant to work! I love it! Thanks for posting it.

Andi, looks like that 66 is going to be your trademark. It is a great looking knife.

Nice looking Kent Gevonovich :) And that's a nice combo you have there today Andi

Thank you guys!

I found it cast away in a bin and the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew it was special. It had been bitten badly by the grinder and had not had a bath in ages. I sanded it with 2500 gits to take out the scars as best I could, gave it an edge, and a mineral bath. The more I handled it, the more I fell in love with it. It has a thin but weighty feel, very solid snaps and no wobble. Camillus really did make fine knives back in the day; this was the Woolworth house brand.

I like how you described it, Ed

I really like your kissing crane, Andy!

sitflyer - That sow is soooo fine. I will find one some day

I really need to stop reading this thread!

In my insomniac moments, I find myself gazing at some of these wonderful knives in folks collections...then trying to find where I can buy one.
One of these days its gonna prove very expensive!

I am really liking the look of that new Huckleberry from GEC. Those Nitebrite scales would come in very handy for me.

Anyway, for today I have pocketed my new Svord Mini again. I'm finding it a VERY comfy knife to use and I had no qualms about passing it around a few of the guys at work when doing some en-masse box opening after lunch.

Its simply a great knife....or is that a great simple knife?

Incredible! Makes it even more special, good on you for rescuing it and showing it kindness! :)

Such a generous offer Ed, to so selflessly relieve me of my misery!

Seriously though, it is not a problem, just a tick off being perfect because I prefer opening either blade from the same side with my left thumb.

That Kent is really, really nice, Gevonovich! Just the kind of jack knife I like to find -- one that has obviously been used for its intended purpose (and maybe some other chores as well) by those who had it before me.

Here is one of mine that fits the bill, an old Imperial with blades arranged as I like, worn by use, but still very solid. It's not as attractive as your Kent, but is functional and easy to carry (at 0.3125" wide it is the thinnest two spring knife I own).

Thanks Jack! Wish I had your skill at writing so that I could have brought the story to life.

Ed - I forgot to say how much I like your Finn as well! Man..those are nice

Scruffuck - Bagel and lox? kickin knife

Edit - Thanks Doug and that is one fine old knife! It had me the first time you posted it.

Thanks guys!

Ed J: Yes, the #66 Serpentine Jack is my favorite knife in many ways... not just because of its great handleshape - it has a great size, too.

Jack: Thanks for the kind words - it´s a nice combo and the R. Klaas in all-steel-construction so very slim in any case.

Gevonovich: The Robert Klaas is a nice little knife. I really like it the way it is... I don´t have it almost that long - but I really like it :)

Nice Svord Mini Scruff

I know what you mean about those insomniac moments! :D I love the look of ALL those new GECs, they've done a great job of them. Reckon it'll be sometime before they're available here though. Wouldn't it be great to have some knife stores we could just walk into? Probably expensive though! :)

That's a great-looking knife Doug, real character

Thanks Jack! Wish I had your skill at writing so that I could have brought the story to life.

You're very kind my friend. I liked your story and you've done a great job with that knife :)

I want to thank each and every poster on this thread for sharing all these wonderful pictures.

I try to look at this thread every day, (not always possible).

Happy holiday season and may everything always go right with you all.
