What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice choice, the micarta is my favorite of the run. I’m not sure how y’all carry these GECs and keep the blade patina free. I gave up years ago and just allow everything to patina.

It’s my favorite as well. My son “borrowed” my Dead Skunk so I bought a Cherry Bone to replace it. I actually like it quite a bit as well and carried it last weekend.

Many of my GECs have a nice patina but while I’ve used the caplifter and screwdriver quite a bit, I’ve only used the blade for opening packages and cutting twine so far (I just don’t often cut food with my pocket knife). It will eventually get there.

When you need all the main blade types in one package...

A great one to all:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Your 194 looks like this is it’s first time out of the tube!
One of the great patterns:thumbsup:

I was getting speckle spots around the etch on mine from basic use like yours. Must be my chemistry or environment. After I saw that I said screw it and made some steak that night to get a real patina started.
I thought I was going to like the bone more, but it was too nice for me so I moved it to someone who missed the run. I’m still on the fence with my acrylic because that’s the one I wanted from the start, but it doesn’t get used.

A lot of folks call the 294 a trapper, and I vaguely recall seeing an old Schrade catalog featuring this pattern on which a pen replaces the spey, and they called it a serpentine jack. I won’t argue with either, but for today’s purposes, I’ll say it’s a trapper jack.
These are not all that common, but this one is patina’d to hellenback, so a user it is!

Forgot to mention, I do RenWax my covers and blades. I assume that wears off at some point but it probably helps prevent pepper spots for a while.

Un-Chained Un-Chained thanks and am super happy to see GEC get the shield placement aesthetically pleasing! Love your cherry blossom pic.
