What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This one was waving at me when I walked passed the dresser this morning so I put it in me pocket

Holy crap! Got a pic of that one open?

This is my first post in this subforum, but I have been lurking here since late last summer. Ever since I started carrying a knife, it has been a locking one hand opener. But late last summer, when the leaves were starting to change and the smell of wood burning fires were in the air, i found jackknife's stories. Perfect timing. Reading all of his stories and seeing all of the pictures everyone posts of their traditional knives converted me over to traditional style knives.
Since then I have bought many, but none have replaced the first one that I bought, my Case texas jack in cv. It has been in my pocket every day since i bought it (although, sometimes it is not alone ;)).

This is an older picture, it has a little more wear and patina on it now. ;)

Here are the rest of them that sometimes get carried with the jack

Thanks again to everyone in this subforum for helping to convert me to the traditional side of things!

Glad you saw the light. I love to read stories like yours. I also have a Texas Jack. I don't carry it everyday, but I really don't know why. I guess I always grab others. Or I grab one of my copperheads. Which is simaler blades wise. But the jack is a little smaller and a different shape. Reading your post though, I am going to take it out of my case and use it. I really like the amber bone. I have a lot of it. And I like jack knives. So why not? Thanks for posting.

Here is mine. I need to get better pictures of it.

Wave on th'belt, Buck 315 Rigger in pants, old Dozier Thorn clipped onto thong around my neck, for when I've got no pockets. (I live on a boat)

Yesterday I went for my GEC Tidioute #23 Pioneer in pumpkin bone. It's a brick, but I was wearing cago pants, which helped. I was grilling so I wanted more blade for poking and prodding at burgers an such.

Just carrying a small Boker stockman 7588 in rosewood handles--nothing too fancy. TF Fisher-like the looks of that #73. Am anxiously awaing the arrival of my own in Antique Peachseed. Looks even better up close--Thanks for the pic.

Thank you Gentlemen ,

yes it is a nice one : forged bee, no bolster , "3 pièces" , old fashion (crescent )nail nick , but its main advantage is to be of a quite rare size - most Laguiole - for men- are ( or were) 12 cm (closed) long but this one is 13 cm.

Take a look at other side below . Being the side shown ( for a righty holding the knife ) , the horn was chosen to have a 'better look ' ( by the old standarts ). It was the way most of the knives were made : the better scale was for show !

Thanks for the greeting Sunnyd- as I understand (for what it's worth), the 315 was made for Buck by Camillus. Nice Canoe man..............I have a 14 foot kayak!

I still carry my Case medium stockman daily. I have realy warmed up for the pattern. The knife that I dont got but always wanted is a standard mediumsized jack with clip and penblades. This stockman has the clip and the pen and in addition to that also a sheepfoot blade that is my favorit straight edge bladetype. A stockman is kind of a strange pattern in nothern Sweden as they most seldom makes it here. So are all quality slipjoints besides SAKs. The medium stockman is realy a good design, no wonder so many on this forum praise it.
