What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you. I seem to have settled in on 1978 Case knives, quite unintentionally. My 6232 jack is from 1978. My 6344 stockman is from 1978. The 6207 mini trapper I traded to Paul was from 1978, as is the 6244 jack he sent me in the trade. Each acquired at different times from different sources. Now the 6220 peanut. I don't know how or why, but there seems to be a trend developing here.

Thanks Jack. It is beautiful. The grain is tighter and the figuring smaller, but it reminds me of some birds eye maple I have seen on guitars and stocks for handguns.

Great looking peanut Doug! Gorgeous bone.

I love that Utica, Clutchcarter. Nice bolsters and bone.

Wonderful pics, Jack!! That mora is a gem

Thank you again Doug. Birch is used a lot by the Scandanavian knife makers. I used to have a nice Brusletto model with a really beautiful pattern-grained birch handle. I gifted it a while ago, but will try and get some pics sometime. This is a scanned in black & white pic from an old magazine article I did about the knife. Obviously it doesn't do it justice, but as you can see it's quite different to the Frosts knife, the colour is like caramel, really nice feel to it too.

Picked this one up today. Family spent Christmas in Gatlinberg, TN and I stopped by Smokey Mtn Knifeworks this morning. Been eying it online for a while. It's more of a gentleman's scout knife. 3 1/4" with decent fit and finish.

Congrats on the Colonel Coon, it's a nice little Scout. I should carry mine today, it's been neglected!

I was out and about with my wife yesterday and stopped at the local True Value. Of course I had to ogle the knives, and a nice little Mini-Copperhead with clip blade and stag covers came home with me :)

There is not a more beautiful tree than the Birch!! A birch mora ....just classy. I need to pick one up.

I used to have a sackful of fancy Moras, but have given most of them away over the years. I think they look very good with wood, birch being the best.

Here's a table-top pic of a Finnish Martinni

and the smallest of 3 Frosts Lapplander's I have with rosewood scales

Great sheaths to match two great knives Robert, really like the look of them

Thanks! by the end of 2013 the new sheath will likely look like the top dark one...but its great watching it and the knife change appearance from use. :D
