That one to the left of the flag... looks like my Mom.
Lucy blushed a little
Can vampires blush? 🧛‍♀️
Nicely matched pair my friend
Thank you, Jack.
They do kinda match well together.

Congrats on the new acquisitions, Todd!:cool::thumbsup: Lots of Porch denizens going for that micarta single-blade trapper lately! Your Böker stockman pair is sehr elegant!

Thanks Gary! Got a lot of use today out of the knife you sent me. We have to do a lot of reconfiguring on our dock to fit the new boat. Cut lots of rope today, even used the spike to untie a few knots that had been cinched all winter!44B47C49-40DB-401B-A6FF-8E9C5DC3862D.jpeg

Spending some time in the backyard this morning with these two knives along. Sadly our massive silver maple is dying and will probably be taken down this year. :(
I'll sure miss the old girl and the shade she provides. On the plus side I won't miss the 6 million seed pods she releases that cover the lawn each spring. :)

It's a great sadness when a tree dies off or is selfishly felled :( I hope you plant something to replace it.

Both my parents were cremated, there is no grave to visit thankfully. Instead, I've planted trees in their memory in three different countries as a remembrance and as a source of future beauty :)

Tremendous Ebony/Blackwood on those knives shown, hope those trees get replaced too.

We intend to put another in its place. It will be difficult as the base is around 5' in diameter and the stump grinding will be quite an undertaking. The roots could be a problem to work around as well. If I were a chainsaw artist I would consider carving a tall grizzly bear or a Sasquatch, it measures 14' vertical to that first fork.
Very nice what you did in your parents memory, those trees should be there for decades for others to enjoy.:thumbsup:View attachment 1569460View attachment 1569461
