What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Now you’ve got me looking at Old Hickorys on the auction site.
There’s a bird and trout, and a hunting knife, both with nice belt sheaths...
Incredibly cheap for American made good carbon steel and hickory!
hek with it. Time for a change. My back hurts.
BTI Old Timer 25OT 2 blade slipjoint folding hunter went back on my belt at the 15:00 position on my hip. With a bit of luck, having it uder my right hip when I'm sleeping will eliminate my week old back ow.

A BTI 858OT Lumberjack Stockman has joined the faux M1212 West German Cold War Era Bundeswehr with hand made by I braided leather fob.
(yes, I am aware my braiding skill (or more precisely the lack thereof) leaves much to be desired on the finished thing.)

I leave my belt knives, leatherman, priners, and cell phone case on my belt, on my jeans when I go to sleep.

But I don’t wear pants in bed...

Dadburnit! For some reason, I really have a taste for a cherry Tootsie Pop.
How did you get the patina on the old timer? Both look great
Well, thank you!
But I don’t know ~ honest. It just happens.
Once in a great while, I might peel an orange, but I’ll bet it comes from cutting greens in the garden, and testing meat for doneness on the grill.
I wipe them with little Norton’s oil on my fingers when I put them away, because I hate rust.

That first part made me think of a roommate I had in college, we called him BB, don’t recall his real name, used to sleep in his clothes, said if there was a fire he didn’t want to stand on the street in his underwear and watch his clothes burn up. Good guy, just a little odd! 😂

I carried my Hayn Helper today, and actually used it to cut some hay strings.

Excellent!
It’s not too often that we get to use our knives for their named purpose!
Is the secondary a pen blade? You’ll have to use it to trim your quill pen.
It’s got a big pen secondary, so I’ll be ready if the opportunity arises to trim a quill pen.

I just hope I don’t have to use my bull nose for its named purpose, whatever that entails. 😄

Thanks Dennis! That is an awesome big’un, the horn is gorgeous!😎👍
Thank you, Todd. It's definitely a keeper. 🙂👍
Thank you, Dennis!
And you as well...
Of course, a TL-29 pairs well with almost anything.
They do! Always good to have in my truck with a Leatherman and a Buck 110.🙂👍
A great pair as well, Jeff! I need to try one of the glow in the dark covers...I was always in the frame of mind that they were more of a gimmick, but they do seem to be popular. 😎👍
Love the paint brush horn. 🤠
Thank you, John! It does have a neat pattern on the mark side.🤠👍
Happy Thursday Everybody.
I've got my Usual Lamb and an AG Russell Rancher for Thrifty Thursday
Very flexible pairing, John!🙂👍
Dropping these in the pocket today.

Nice pair, Todd! Really like the Bokers you're posting!🙂👌
I'll be heading to town today - the first time since last Thursday for me and making all the rounds - Post Office, the Wagon Wheel Cafe for Chicken Fried Steak with white gravy, hash browns, and two eggs up and then the Holiday Market and then the Four Corners Market. Then it'll be a drive around town wasting gas to see what the locals are up to. This GEC Scout Trapper will make a good companion for this excursion.

I remember trips into town like that, but is was always good to get home too.🙂👍 Nice road trip carry, Ed!😎👍
I love it Dennis :D :) It looks like you have work in mind pal. Not too much of it I hope ;) :)
Thanks, Jack! Just yard work and the inevitable "gotta fix that beeping thing!"😉👍
Thank you, Dennis. The horn on your big Lamb is exquisite.
Thank you kindly, Dylan!👍
A couple of old ones again for me today.

Absolutely love the ebony, a perfect pair in my eyes!😎👍
had to switch it up just a little bit ago as I just got in a very fine small fixed blade. It really strikes my fancy.

But nothing wrong with that pair either!😀👌
Peanut of the Week is a Remington with interesting wood (that I forgot to post for Wooden Wednesday :():

Lambsfoot of the Week is a Chinese Schrade 19OT that I call Lambshark. It's not sold as a lambsfoot, but I think that's what the blade shape is:

The peanut is exquisite, Gary!😮👍
Fine stag and horn on your knives in this post!
Thank you very much, kind sir!🙂👍

Had some time I had to sit still today, so it was photo-OP time, without freaking out the nurses. 🙂

Happy Thursday! Another rainy one here. Fortunately, there will be a break for the weekend!

Now that's a handsome pairing! :)
Your Hartshead with that very cool looking pocket slip not only cuts the cake, it takes it too! :thumbsup:
Many thanks JJ, the slip was a very thoughtful gift from the talented maker ;)
Threw these two Imperials in my pocket today, a thrifty Barlow from the late 40s/early 50s and their first BSA scout issued in the late 40s. :)
What a great pairing JJ, a boy of any age would be proud of those two :) By coincidence, I picked up a Daddy Barlow in Leeds market yesterday, made at the Jowika factory in Listowel, Ireland, with the Stag mark they used after being acquired by Imperial :)
Thank you, Jack! It's always nice to see how your Hartshead evolves with time, carry, and use.

I know what you mean buddy! :D I hope you're doing OK Dennis :) Those two go together nicely :) As well as your 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot, I'm glad you have one of those Schrade-Wostenholm Canoes, interesting bit of cutlery history, and that stag is outstanding  :)

Have a good Friday, and a great weekend everyone :) I found myself pining for my #66 Jack yesterday, and thought I'd carry it today, with my Hartshead Barlow ;)

Gorgeous pair Dennis! I hope trying to sneak a couple of photos didn’t cause your blood pressure to jump!
Regarding Knife Brite®️covers, the biggest problem is that so far, the only knives I’ve lost outside did not have those covers.
