Ohhh I like that ALOT!!! Very nice

Great picture, great post. :)

Thanks! I like macro photography, but having nice natural light to do it with is a rarity in winter (Portland, OR) -- today we got some just as I finished roughing out that one side, so I figured, hey, why not switch hobbies for a bit.

It's a handsome knife, too. I was worried it would look plain with no shield, but the bone is so nice you're happy to have a little bit more of it to look at.

Yup, as you will see, even past that I prefer to carry "pre loved" knives or as some refer to them as HOK's or Honest Old Knives. Ones that have been used and taken care of by someone else, but do not pretend to be expensive or worth much more than their usefulness.

Not sure I'll be able to get a daily update pic, but I will get an overall of the 5 I plan to carry (or 7 if I get real ambitious).

Starting Sunday...

It happens so often that the size you have in mind when looking at these photos is way off. I always thought they were big things, like Buck 110 big :)
But I guess I should have noticed something was a bit off when you, a smaller-knives-enthusiast, started posting pictures of it :D

That's funny, and an apt observation! Here's a little secret, however: give me a knife, and I'll carry it around for at least a little while, regardless of size. I'm easy like that. Heh.

(I won this Silver Knight in TLARbb's most recent Christmas Eve Giveaway.)

But yes, this is a very small knife, 3.25" long and oh-so-thin. While sharing a semblance of the form factor of larger knives such as the Buck 110, it's a wee one. Perhaps some of the other Silver Knights are larger, however? I have no idea.

Terrible weather out there... the Carl Schlieper Red Bone Muskrat in carbon steel was with me today...

Yes... horrible is NO description. At the Alps we have heavy flood-warnings and even floods. The rain is falling since yesterday nonstop... ;)

Hope you'll all be OK Andi.

I was carrying my Kabar Peanut from Pete, but didn't take any pics because I forgot to put the memory card in my camera! Doh! :(

Thanks guys... I hope we get through without any damage :(

Mark: The Carl Schliepers are solid german made american-traditional-knives. I like them. :)

Sturzi, the Folding Sportsman II is approximately the size of a Buck 110 and was Gerber's competitive product to the 110. The Silver Knight series was always considered to be "gentleman's folders" and thus much more pocket friendly in size. I'll try to get a comparison photo up here to illustrate the sizes. Unfortunately, I have committed the sin of not owning a Buck 110, so I can't put one in a photo.

Just got this little beauty in the mail this afternoon, and it went straight into my pocket. I love the Serpentine jacks!
